I'm not into driving games. But the few iterations of these two franchises I've played were both good. Having said that I'm pretty sure I've read Forza has been scoring higher than GT for a while now. And well, ain't the huge delay between Forza releases either.
Honestly, at this point, Gran Turismo is so bad that the Mario Kart series and even the crappy NFS series are better. What happened to Polyphony?
Anyway, both Horizon and Motorsport are better than anything else, with Mario Kart third. I SOOOO want a Forza Kart racing series! :D
GT , more cars , so i don't need a new game every year.
Yeah those 50 variants of a Honda Civic and PlayStation 2 cars really do bring a lot to the table...
It takes a moron to just look at it like that , so why don't you just shut up.

Seems like I struck a nerve lol, what other way is there to look at it...
This thread prompted me to play Forza Horizon 2: Fast and Furious on my X360 which I got free on it a while back and had never booted up. It is fun but it's wrecking my hands in short order like these games always tend to do to me cuz I just always am too tense when I try playing racing games.

Even the useless slow cars in gt are fun to set and beat personal track times with.

You could say the same thing of the slow and useless cars in Forza, however there aren't multiple variants of the same car making up a complete redundancy and cars from the PlayStation 2... It's pointless.

The PS2 cars , yes they exist , but a Spoon Honda is not the same as a D1 Honda.
Maybe if you cared about racing games you would know that sim racers are not about the visuals , but you like a space marine shooting a laser gun in space at space goombas , so i guess thats just a pipe dream in your case.
And i'm glad you took my comment , istead of all the MK8 comments , so who is buthurt here?

There's way more slow useless cars in gt.
This is was I found for the civics in GT6
Yea, that's a lot of variations. Could have gotten rid of 3 EG's and 4 Type R's. But, it's a game about car appreciation and collecting, I don't see how they harm the game in any way.

Here's a thought, have one car with the ability to build it into whatever configuration or model you would like, how hard would that be...
Also, if you were concerned about actual racing simulation you wouldn't be playing a console game, that's about all I'm gonna say concerning that.
Didn't we had this type of thread before?
It's a topic that comes around from time to time. These two racing titles, as genre flagships of their respective platforms, have one of the most aggressive rivalries in gaming.
But to me it's Forza with no contention. It has the more polished racing experience along with the most extensive customization, both mechanically and aesthetically.

If you knew anything about Motorsports , you will know there is no base model.
If we go by your logic , the Audi R8 have to be a Golf GTI , because that's where the base comes from.
Or Zondas just Bens AMG c-class.
My god , please don't bother with F6 , stick with Horizon.
And i play ALL racing games , platform be dammed , but i can't pick between it , and Forza , sorry , buy some cream on the out.

What on earth... How does that have anything to do with what has been said with this thread, you just jumped from point A to Z out of no where..

Ok , let me put it in a different way.
How far did you go with the MX-5 in GT3?

I have no idea, way too long ago.

Forza 5 and soon to be Forza 6 are current gen games, I won't even mention Horizon 2, whereas Gran Turismo is yet to be released for PS4, comparing a current gen game's assets to a last gen's isn't really fair.
As of right now Forza is the best racer out but what when Gran Turismo releases? We have to wait and see, I personally think it needs to innovate in some way to be considered next gen, like Forza 6 did, it can't be like Forza 5 where all you get is better graphics, lightning, better looking car models, tracks, textures etc... I'm looking for new ways to enhance the driving experience per se, impactful ones, like the puddles in Forza 6, with how long it's taking Poliphony Digital to relase GT I'd think they're cooking up something cool for the PS4, which will in turn push Turn 10 to make an even better game etc... The way competition works.

It's funny to me that it takes Polyphony so damned long to make their games and then when they come out they're no better than what Turn 10 can do in 1/3rd the time.

Then , without the DLC , which is the best car in Forza 3?

That's very subjective and entirely depends on the class and the way you drive.

Yes , but in Forza 3 there is one car that's the best.
Haven't played Forza 4 to confirm it , but there is one there as well , and if my theory is right , i know the best in F6.

You're silly. The best car is the one which the user tunes the best.
I just checked and the Gremlin actually has been in Forza. So has the Pacer. Lol, that's awesome. :)
I was the biggest Gran Turismo fanboy until I played Forza Motorsport 2. Then Gran Turismo 5 hit and I haven't given a shit about the GT series since.
Polyphony spends too much time on visual presentation and not enough on the "whole" package. They don't provide a satisfying racing experience anymore (especially with regard to sound, which is an integral part of car porn), and take forever to release a new game. While Turn 10 can literally turn out a new game in two years (and don't tell me about out-sourcing work, Polyphony should be doing this now).

I think Turn 10 are arguiably better developers than Poliphony so that is to be expected, from design, to optimizing code they just do it faster, they also could have a bigger team with a higher budget? That could explain it too, although you could say the size of the team and the budget it's running on is part of the reason they are better developers and can optmize code faster.
All that being said I can't help but wonder what Turn 10 and Poliphony could do on the pc assuming e they were targeting high end rigs, as in having the freedom to do whatever they want to put in a game without hardware limitations instead of the gradual inclementations we get with every new iteration. That would level things in terms of hardware at least, but yeah that's never happening.
Would microsoft allow a Forza game on pc? Just curious.
Forza 5 was a tad bit disappointing but apart from that Forza has smoked Gran Tursimo the last 5 years or so.
what disappointed you about Forza 5?
