I'm separating Forza Horizon off by itself and voting for Horizon. I like Forza Motorsport but Horizon just captured me from the jump with the whole open world feel. I'm hoping that FH3 does a street racing theme.

Gran Turismo because it has superior driving physics.

I'm not really that much of a racing games fan but GT was the only racing series that ever managed to get me hooked. It was just fun to unlock more powerfull cars

The GT era died a long time ago. GT best days were on the PS2. When Forza came along, it was game over for Gran Turismo. Forza continues to pump out high scoring games and even split into another type of racing, Horizon, which is also getting high scores. I don't know what Sony and Polyphony or other Playstation exclusive racing devs are doing, why they take forever to come out with racing games but end up being flops. I don't know how many more awarding winning Forza games have to come out to wake up Sony and Polyphony and whoever Playstation racing devs they could hire, Forza running laps around them it's not even fair anymore.

T10 pumps out multiple AA-AAA titles in the same time PD takes to make 1 AA game. At some point GT just made itself irrelevant by having such long dev cycles with such average results.

Forza absolutely crushes GT. Both Horizon and Motorsports.

I don't think I would ever buy another GT game. For 1, I hate how Sony shut down the servers to 5 to push sales for 6. The 2nd reason is because I feel PD has become lazy with the series. The cars feel like they did on PS2 and hitting a wall is like playing bumper cars with horrible physics. People say "You aren't supposed to hit the wall", but either way, if I do, I want it to react somewhat realistically.

Forza 5 was a letdown to me due to it having less content than part 4. It was the first Forza game to disappoint me but because of it, I'll be holding off on Forza 6. I feel if Forza 5 wasn't ready, (which I don't feel it was) it shouldn't have been a launch game. Plus, I'm good on games for the rest of the year and circuit racers have become quite redundant to me these days.

So in answer... I am not sure

Didn't we had this type of thread before?

It's a topic that comes around from time to time. These two racing titles, as genre flagships of their respective platforms, have one of the most aggressive rivalries in gaming.

But to me it's Forza with no contention. It has the more polished racing experience along with the most extensive customization, both mechanically and aesthetically.

I guess that makes sense I supposed.

Both Forza games (FH2 and Forza Motorsport) have been better then GT over the past 5-6 years. Forza has led the way last gen and this gen.

The first two Gran Turismo games had an atmosphere to them which has yet to be topped by any other Forza/GT games.

I prefer the Playstation brand, in general. However, Forza has been much more consistent and timely as of the last few releases. Polyphony needs to step it up.

@xisiuizado: They still think they own the driving simulator genre. They are so ignorant and refuse to communicate with any fans.

If GT7 fails, Sony, just close polyphony down.

GT5 took forever, and really took alot of fixing after launch. But after all the support it got, and with how GT6 was, I'd say that GT was still better last gen. At least in terms of it's ultimate quality. Turn 10 did crank out 3 games last gen. to Polyphony's 2 - and they have already done 2 this gen, to Polyphony's 0. So they are definitely more efficient developers.

We need to see what GT7 is like. If it takes more than a year or two more, it better live up to the highest standard. GT5 really did not live up to Forza at it's launch. So we'll see if they continue to struggle.

As a big GT fan GT is outdated as a full game package. It still got the best driving and best car models premium models at least which is annoying as hell. WTF with this premium shit really Polyphony. Just do 200 cars at your premium quality and get rid of the in consistence junk and all will be good. Add more cars after. Forza overllall is a better game but not as refined in the driving feel as GT. I know some people like the driving better in forza but GT has mastered that and seems like they only focus on that these days. Forza is more modern in everything else but some of it short comings are annoying as hell too. Finally does weather but in a very custom way here. Missing few dynamic features on its latest iteration that I would like to see. Forza gets my vote by a hair but its very very easy for the next GT to come in and take the crown.

Still there hasn't been a good console racing game as good as GT3 Aspec at its time in my opinion. F*** Polyphony this game actually even sounded better at its time than these new GT games.

Horizon>motorsport>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>gt

GT hasn't been good or relevant since the PS2. They can't even be bothered to design cockpits for all the cars
