I don't know about you guys...but this pisses me off. All the false statements about a great, great game have caused target to pull the game off of shelves.
thanks fox news...you guys suck.

What the hell is wrong with America? Huge stores following incorrect news articals? God.
I wonder if EA will threaten legal action now? They'll be losing sales.
Who would have thought that 2 seconds of bare ass which would have not made even the sweatiest nerd *graphic language here* would pull such a great game from store shelves.
Gaming needs a representative soon, or we'll have to get anonymous.
Who goes to Target to buy video games?BreakingPoint8
Good question... the people constantly overprice their games, and are the absolute last to put price cuts to effect.
Hell, sometimes games that launch at a buget price get put on store shelves for $50 :?

i would think they'd HAVE to take legal action. I used to work at target and the electronic's section was a zoo on the weekends. A lot of people buy games there. Honestly, i'd be suprised if EA doesn't do somethig?
this is rediculous
I haven't been following the whole Mass Effect propaganda...but has ANYONE with sense spoke up to defend the game?killab2oo5
Well, that does it, I'm never going to Target again. It has nothing I want nor need. Its not a real grocery store, it isn't a real electronics store, it isn't a real housewares store, and it isn't a real hardware store.
Its just a pseudo-store that pretends a cute dog will get people to go.
NOT ME I SAY!!!
Why would you buy games from anywhere other than Amazon.com? Silly people.CheeChee_Macko
That's just stupid. I don't wanna sti through a delivery time for every game and pay shipping and crap. Besides, Icna often find random discounts at walmart on the occasional game I like.

EA was quick to defend it, the CEOs of Bioware also expressed their disappointment with FOX for that segment, Adam Sessler also had a pretty decent televised rant about the whole thing, not to mention everyone on amazon spammed negative reviews for the books by the "psychological expert" they brought on to bash it. Then she apologized and took back what she said after someone sat her down and she watched them play Mass Effect for a few hours.

You can buy it online http://www.target.com/Mass-Effect-for-Xbox-360/dp/B000OLXX86/sr=1-1/qid=1202777082/ref=sr_1_1/602-5120151-3643050?ie=UTF8&index=target&rh=k%3Amass%20effect&page=1
Just called the local store, they said that they have it for sale.
Huff
Yeah before we from angry mobs, and pick up torches and pitchforks, we should wait to see if this is real, although it IS on the internet, and most of the stuff on the internet is true.
Umm, guys, I was just on the Target website, and it is for sale.
Also, I called my nearest Target, and they said that it is in stock, and currently available for purchase.
That doesn't mean that a ban isn't in effect, but we need to be careful here, and examine the facts instead of trusting some random website.
Time to raid Target's website, anyone want to join?Ragnarok1051
Hold off on the raids until we get official confirmation...

I hope they do. Not in support of EA, but of gaming in general. This is absolutely ridiculous.

i agree this is a complete waste of time Fox is just doing this to get noticed and i hope they get their asses sued for this
Funnily enough I'm really happy about this. Maybe Bioware won't feel the need to include nudity (though very brief) in their next game, which would certainly make it a lot easier to both buy and recommend others.
I do, for the record, disagree strongly with whoever that lady was and her lack of facts. That is a deplorable compromise of honesty for the sake of sensation.

Random Romanian site, I would not put that much faith in a romanian site for the goings on on American Targets stores.

The stores do have the right to drop the game if they wish. Also, did Fox actually release a news article or clip endorsing the lie or was it just the interview? Either way I doubt Fox will be sued since the New York Times and other notable new sources have gotten away with a lot worse with no consequenses.

 Not legal action against Target, but against Fox. Fox is the root of this, Target just thinks they are 'protecting' their customers and themselves by taking it off the shelves.

Where is the proof that Target is actually doing this? The author of the blog that reported this provides none.
[QUOTE="BreakingPoint8"]Who goes to Target to buy video games?xRezarektah
I didn't even know Target sold games.
Both of you miss the whole point of the post. It's not about where "You" can get your games it's the principle of the matter. Propaganda having an adverse affect on society.
N4G can be funny. It seems they take any gaming news story and run with it. It does have an alternative souce, but that other souce uses the same souce as N4G.
I really think people are putting too much stock in this rumor.

In system wars, blogs with no proof = fact. It is sad, really.

True, however, how much does Target contribute to game sales? Most people go a place like Best Buy or Circuit City because it's more geared towards electronics. Target is like, a Wal-Mart wannabe. I doubt them not selling Mass Effect will make a huge difference.
I hope they've taken down all the movies that show skin though, if not, then Target should be shut down. Movies influence people more than video games.
