If this is true, I'd be very unhappy.
However, all we have for proof is a blog with no link or support for its claim, and attempts to determine the validity of the claim seem to prove it false. Until it's proven true, there's no reason to get worked up about it.
[QUOTE="Hoobinator"]Both of you miss the whole point of the post. It's not about where "You" can get your games it's the principle of the matter. Propaganda having an adverse affect on society.

True, however, how much does Target contribute to game sales? Most people go a place like Best Buy or Circuit City because it's more geared towards electronics. Target is like, a Wal-Mart wannabe. I doubt them not selling Mass Effect will make a huge difference.
I hope they've taken down all the movies that show skin though, if not, then Target should be shut down. Movies influence people more than video games.
They do get a LOT of gamesales. Don't underestimate them as some cruddy place for it like K-Mart.

Yep, Target is the #2 department store in the States..if not the world.
I haven't been following the whole Mass Effect propaganda...but has ANYONE with sense spoke up to defend the game?killab2oo5
On the actual news cast they had a spike TV game guy defending it, he was the one who asked her if she ever played the game, then when he actually starting winning the arguement fox cut them off and went back to the chick who knew nothing and admitted it.

Seriously? Well if Microsoft wants they could just sue them. They own the rights to Mass Effect, not EA so I don't see why people are saying they should sue them.
But I doubt this is true. First off, sex sales, so even if they did believe the Fox segment they would probably advertise Mass Effect more.Secondly, this would just not be a smart business move.

For the most part I am a conservitive and fox news makes me sick like most news stations but it is the worst.

Using certain words can make people relate to or distance themselves from a particular piece of news. In this case Fox News wanted people to be empathetic towards American Soldiers so they used the more neutral term "sharpshooter" as opposed to the more commonly used "sniper" which could carry negative images associated with the word with some viewers. By using the term "sharpshooter" they are portraying a piece of news in a more positive light and in a way taking away some of the nastiness associated with sniping i.e. killings, death etc.
For a much better analysis of how news media frames the news check "The CNN Effect: The myth of news, foreign policy and intervention", by Piers Robinson. No it's not just about the CNN but news media in general.
