All games have their framerate increased from 30 to 60FPS.

• On Xbox Series S all games have a resolution of 1080p (except Prey at 900p).
• On Xbox Series X Fallout 4 and Fallout 76 they lower their resolution from 2160p to 1080p with FPS Boost activated.
• Prey runs at 1440p on Skyrim at 2160p and Dishonored at 1080p on Series X.

So to summarize, Fallout 4 and Fallout 76 who had Xbox One X enhancements for a higher resolution are dropped down to 1080p if FPS Boost is enabled to run them at 60 FPS. As for Prey, it still retains 1440p resolution while Skyrim renders at 4K. Lastly, Dishonored is 1080p on the Xbox Series X when using the FPS Boost.

seems like a non-issue for Xbox Series S and looks like a great option for Xbox Series X owners who'd prefer the faster framerate.. FPS Boost can be toggled off in the setting menu if you prefer the original resolution/performance..

How on the world does Dishonored need to run at 1080p to hit 60fps on the XSX? I had to set a framerate cap on my old R7 260x back when the last gen consoles launched because it ran out of control high frames at 1080p and caused the fan to freak.

So? Most people aren't sitting close enough to a large enough screen to notice a big difference in resolution. Most next gen games on next gen console use dynamic resolution anyway. You're not getting 4K, and you never will unless it's on something pushing a decade old.

As much as Sony tries to force people into 4K, you'd almost think they made money off people buying new televisions.... Oh wait, they do.

if you actually read the post, Skyrim is still 4K while using FPS Boost on Xbox Series..

Dishonored: DE never received an Xbox One X enhancement to 4K.. it only runs at 1080p on consoles regardless..

i believe the "new thing" here is that these games are receiving at least double the framerates without any additional coding from the developer.. this has pretty great implications if/when FPS Boost continues to mature on the Xbox console platform ..

It doesn't imply anthing about resolution drop regarding Dishonored. But it implies that Dishonored received a FPS boost. And that's it. It is just a summary which games received a FPS boost and at which resolution. As headline of the thread saying :

sorry not the case .. the 1080p thing is a bug that a reboot of the game fixes (for both Fallout 4 and Fallout 76)

The claim was already strange. The Series X is double the One X GPU performance so it would not make sense to cut the resolution to 25% to double the framerate.

Why? You can turn it on/off, and it's still better than what you can do on a PS5. Plus, Fallout 4 is probably the lastFallout game to appear on the PS5 (that's gotta hurt).
