Last Gen was dominated with WW2 games. This Gen dominated with Modern and with some Futuristic.

I'd like an FPS from the early 1900s or late 1800s just for the sake of variety.
[QUOTE="sanim02"]what variety 90s FPS have? just doom clones?? We still have variety if you dont look at Big Mainstream Market. ..... 1900's. not 1990's. He means the Victorian age and the First World War.I'd like an FPS from the early 1900s or late 1800s just for the sake of variety.
SNIPER4321
WWII isn't coming back, about modern, I'd say the audiences will soon start to get rather fatigued by it, so I'd expect futuristric, but nothing overly creative, just stuff like Black Ops 2 and Future Soldier, you know, a few gadgets like invisibilty, drones, etc...
[QUOTE="Randoggy"][QUOTE="SNIPER4321"] Fantasy is by far worst setting ever.SNIPER4321So instead of something new and interesting you essentially want the same stuff. You are indeed a dolt. no i hate high fantasy setting with magic and dragon and blah blah blah Then play Mount and Blade it has no magic or dragon nonsense.
Futuristic, of course. I'm still burned out in WW2 FPSes and just got recently burned out in modern-day FPSes.

Fake war's like cod's 4 plot or space one's idk, maybe star wars fps?
of course he have games already out there like tribes but idk
I want everything.
Fantasy, Steampunk, Sci-fi, WW2,Modern Warfare, Napoleonic Warfare and so on.
Just make it interesting and avoid using the same old overused settings for each game. How many times do we need the play through D-Day, how many times do we need to fight terrorists or take back America from the communists, give me an FPS that pits me in the Syrian Civil War.
I don't care what era they are set in. I just want less of them to use the same gameplay design as CoD.
No, they've taken this too far. Let's have some shooters that aren't based in reality at all. Have some creativity for once.Cherokee_Jack
You mean like science fiction or an FPS that has no basis in reality whatsoever, like it's not even a human who shoots things ?
I can't think of a single FPS where you don't play as a human or someone humanlike so that would be a nice change:P

I guess Giants: Citizen Kabuto is pretty close to what I mean. It's not strictly an FPS, but has a great surreal quality to it.
Also MDK to a lesser extent.
In short, all I want games to do is trade this life for something new.

Never played those games.
I did play armed and dangerous from the same developer and that game was overflowing with originality. Would you say Giants aged well ? I might check it out
I like original weapons in my FPS most of all like the shark gun from A&D, the gravity gun, the cerebral bore, that gun from painkiller that shoots shurikens and lightning, ...
So yeah we need more creativity definitely
