@drummerdave9099: Disagree. RE7 wasn't Resident Evil. A good horror game, sure... but not RE. If they wanted that to represent what they wanted RE to be from here on, it shouldn't have been numbered. It should have simply been called Resident Evil, Biohazard, or even RE VR or some other side game name. Other than name, it basically has nothing to do with the rest of the series until Chris shows up the last two minutes of the game.

Yet it's the best RE game since RE4 by some very considerable margin. I love the new direction and hope they stick with it and don't go back to forcing people to put things in lockboxes every time they turn round a corner just to be 'oldschool' RE.

If they want RE7 to represent the direction their new games are going in it absolutely should be numbered. Sooner or later people are going to have to stop demanding that RE never changes.

Hilariously, the same people complained about 5 and 6 so yeah let's all listen to their dumbass 'point of views'. Just saying change is not a bad thing when RE7 is the end result.

Gran Turismo let me down, I was expecting a full version with new stuff, not an online only early access style game.

Uncharted:- I thought that UC3 was just a mistake they can recover from but I was wrong. The IP has gone to shit. Just when I thought they couldn't have done worse, they proved me wrong.

Infamous:- The game looked and played well but it just didn't evolve at all.

Tomb Raider:- This is when a game loses its way and forgot why people were initial intrigued by it. Now its just a sad Sonyesque clone. Call me when Tomb raider goes back to being a Tomb raider.

RE7 isn't Resident Evil but RE5 and 6 are? Why? Were they scary or tense even once? I disagree that a game must have Chris Jill Leon etc to be a good RE game.

Nothing this gen really apart from Doom 2016/Eternal. Most of my disappointments come from around XBOX to 360 & PS3 era. Rainbow Six and Ghost Recon, Deus Ex, SUPCOM with the piss poor SUPCOM2, AVP, Duke Nukem, Fallout I enjoyed a bit but I would have preferred a sequel more like the original games and I dont like any of the new battlefield games since BF Vietnam. I probably missed some.

Dawn of War - DoW 3 was a huge letdown

Mass Effect - enjoyed Andromeda but it could have been a lot better

Fallout - Fallout 4 is barely a better game than 76. didn't deserve the positive reception IMO

@ten_pints: You should give Sport another shot, they've added a ton of stuff to the game, all free. Offline races, tons of cars, tracks, different modes, etc.

Fire Emblem Three Houses had some interesting ideas, but I spent way too much time exploring the monastery between missions for it to be engaging to me. I think having the option to use a menu interface where I could just talk to people and set up activities rather than having to walk the whole monastery, look in all of the rooms, to up and down the stairs of different buildings, etc would really streamline the whole thing and make it a lot more bearable. Also, the mission design left a little to be desired. I'm not sure I like the direction the series is heading.

Of franchises I liked (at least in part) last gen, these are the ones that didn't continue the tradition.

Batman Arkham Knight

Fallout 4

GoW

Battlefield

Bloodborne

But the king failure award goes to...

RED DEAD REDEMPTION 2

Childish gifs, massive surprise. No aggression here at all by the way, I just find your posts incredibly puerile and childish.

Feel free to keep doing you though, free world and all that.

I agree, I enjoyed the game and it didn't disappoint me as much as few other titles I mention in my post but the monastery part gotta be the worst part of the game. I especially hate the whole loop in monastery of cafeteria for bond - learn from other teacher - repeat. Monastery part just got way too repetitive especially in part 2 where suddenly there is no fking side quest other than 3 fetch quest from ur closes aid. I just ended up skipping most of part 2 and grind for story battles.

Basically to me its Persona repetition but without its charm. Personally hope the next game they ditch the Persona mechanics and get back to good old Fire Emblem srpg goodness.

Im talking about all of them, but especially Invisible War. I enjoyed Human Revolution but it doesnt hold a candle to the original Deus Ex IMO, therefore a let down.

of course it didnot. but it was step forward compare to invisible wars.

some games are remain constant classic. there wont be any Deus Ex that will be better than original, there wont be any Mafia that will be better than Mafia 1.

but on other hand Doom Eternal is best Doom game.

Valkyria Revolution was disappointing, then SEGA redeemed themselves with Valkyria Chronicles 4 yet I got disappointed with the sales it got, it is such a good game.

The Elder Scrolls. Oblivion & Skyrim are two of the greatest RPGs ever made -- Where's TES VI ?? None of this ESO garbage.

@lamprey263:

"they instead chose to add more tombs and focus on exploration. This change wasn't an improvement."

-That's literally what makes Tomb Raider, TOMB RAIDER!! You're complaining that it went back to what initially made the franchise famous.

i have to go ass greed. loved black flag the boat was fun to use and loved when the crew sang songs.

loved the gameplay because once i got good with it i was untouchable.

i did like origins but it was a clone of witcher 3 to me. i loved the witcher 3 but ubisoft felt like they tried to hard to be witcher 3.

oblivion was garbage i have to say. the leveling in that game sucked so bad. why on earth did they make an orc take 3 hits at level one and 20 at a higher level. you never felt like you went up in levels because it just made the enemy's super hard to kill. i ended up never sleeping so i stay at level one.

all you did was hack hack heal hack hack heal. over and over again. at high level i had to creep and make sure only one enemy came on the screen at once because once the second one came in i was dead.

you never felt that powerful in that game at all. i always do side quest in games so i could feel powerful going against the enemy's in the story parts of the game. oblivion kills that completely.

@nepu7supastar7: I liked the tomb challenges of newer games, but once they're done there's little reason to go back to them, and there's no thrilling combat in the game, despite a very detailed combat skill tree system seems so wasteful to even expand on mechanics without chance to flex those skills

@gifford38: I agree level scaling absolutely sucks, but never felt powerful? Get good Lol I felt powerful as **** after my 500+ hours I spent playing the game.
