Franchise(s) that you wish would just die

Everyone saying mario, i'm pretty sure you mean the spinoffs. Not the real games, like SMG.

I think I speak for everyone when I say MARIO! It is the most milked franchise EVER! There are like 500 games featuring that freaking Italian plumber!catlin_czirr

I forget the exact numbers for flops but there are

And 7 AAA (8 counting galaxy)

And as far as I know, there are less A- than AAA.

I don't know why you'd want a series like that to end anytime soon.

I personally think Tony Hawk games have been going nowhere for the last 3 or 4 years... and this is coming from someone who has the first 8 Tony Hawk games. (THPG doesn't interest me)

On top of that, Skate makes that whole series feel stale in comparison. What franchise or franchises do you think should die?

i think tony hawks pro skater is a good franchise i think they just need to stop releasing one every year and just go for one ever 2-3 years.

and i think crash needs to die, crash was great in its day but has gone down hill since

Megaman Starforcewould definately be my first pick.

Final Fantasy/Dragon Quest/Kingom HeartsSpinoffs/Remakes/Ports should all die.

While his first games were phenomenal (Megaman 2 can easily be considered one of the best games of all time), the new games (see; anything released including and since Battle Network) have made him into a joke, and can be compared to the raping of the Sonic franchise.

I think any franchise that sells over 2 million copies every new installment shouldn't die just as a standard. There's people enjoying them for cripe's sake, why do you want them to die? Just because you don't like them and others do? /minirant

Ok, now for some franchises that DO need to die: THPS. Actually I don't know if it does 2 million each time or not, but this is just pretty much rehash. They should either wait with releasing a new one until they've got something sequel worthy, or start over again. Especially since skate. Also yearly sports games. They should take the time to create a really great sport game, instead of releasing the same thing over and over again with different players. Why not update the leaugues through internet?

IMHO I would either not care or like that these did not exist anymore:

• Mario Party
• Madden (or sports games in general)
• GT
• GTA
• Guitar Hero

Oddly I'm going to add:

• Dragon Quest
• Final Fantasy

In all honesty I've grown tired of these franchises... :(

Name a MARIO franchise. I agree with you but only on Mario PArty. Mario isn't considered a franchise on it's own.

There areless than50 games (on 8 platforms, over 25 years) that actually feature Mario as a main character. Among those 200 are games like OoT or Link's Awakening, or even third party games, that have a brief cameo.
