Friendly X1X 2017 sales prediction thread.

The title is a bit tongue in cheek, admittedly, as I know a thread like this will likely not result in what one might call friendly interactions. Be that as it may, I'm curious about what you guys think: how many X1X consoles will sell by the end of 2017 (assuming, of course, MS even releases those numbers)? We know that the X1X releases on 11/7, so that gives it just about two months left on the year. Undoubtedly, the X1X will be compared to the Switch, which did really well in that time frame (I don't know the exact amount). I was going to do a poll, but I figured it is better that people actually state their prediction, that way we can keep a clear list of who predicts what.

So, lems, man up. Of course, all others are invited, too.

It's a niche/premium product, so comparing it to the Switch is silly... as is comparing it to the base PS4/XB1. The only fair comparison is to the PS4 Pro.

As for sales numbers, I wouldn't have a clue. But like Phil said, it's not going to set the world on fire and MS will sell waaaay more XB1 S's.

And again, you cows are way to obsessed with this console.

I say 1.2 shipped, about 700, 000 sold sounds right. They will combine some pc sales and call it the highest two month revenue generated in xbox. Or state some type of pr spin that sounds just as good.

I remember the days they actually spoke about xbox by itself and not this new term that means pc and mobile window accounts as well

I have no idea about specific numbers... probably similar to what PS4 Pro did. Maybe a little better.

For a $500 premium mid-gen upgrade, nobody expects this thing to sell like hot cakes and not to mention, not you'll need a 4KTV take full advantage on Xbox One X. I'm gonna just take a wild guess Xbox One X will sale between 500-800 units at the end of 2017. (At least)

Just use my numbers in my post since she did say at the end of this year and so 500-800 units sold sounds reasonable since X1X has only 2 months to shine. (I'm just taking a wild guess on these predictions so don't take me seriously)

500-800? Man, that's pretty brutal. I'd think it would be higher than that, but who knows.

Itll likely be a good bit higher than 800. But as has been stated, no one expects it to sell like crazy. I imagine it might eventually beat the Pro, as its basically the suped up version of it. But who knows.

What's PS4 Pro sales as percentage of total PS4 sales? Halve that percentage, then apply that to the total XBox One sales. That's my bet.

I wasn't trying to be mean or anything at all. But were talking about $500+this is a mid-gen upgrade optional+how many people owns 4KTV outside of SW+do current Xbox One/S really need to upgrade=just tells me I'm looking at 500-800 units sold. Just keep in mind, I'm taking a guess since you did say at the end of the year and 2 months is short to ever hit like 1,000 I guess.

I'll go with 2.5 million in the first year. There's just nothing of consequence beyond multiplatform games and the price disparity is going to scare away all but the most loyal (but boy there are a healthy number of them).

I'm not trying to be coy, I honestly don't follow sales numbers at all... especially monthly sales. So I have no idea. What did the Switch do in it's first month? Or the Pro?

@hrt_rulz01: Never bother to care about the sale numbers during there first launch. I only saw this thread and I just took a wild guess cause even I have no idea how the Xbox One X will fair during it's 2 months at the end of the year. Never was interested buying PS4 Pro when my launch PS4 is still good and I'm not really a fan of supporting upgrade consoles for this gen.

Though I do wonder if someone will make a NPD thread to see how it fairs.

Oh I'm sure they will for XB1 X... cows will be waiting to pounce the second it "under performs" in their eyes and it'll be full of "flop" threads".

A million, Black Friday and holiday launch, pretty confident that MS treats the X1X like they did the Elite Controller, soft release, create the false demand, announce how they are impressed with initial demand of the system say they weren't prepared for it and they are trying to ship more. Same ole' same ole'

Edit...this is assuming X1X launches in all MS markets on November 7 and doesn't have a staggered launch like first US a week later U.K. Etc...don't know if any of those details have been released yet

I'll say between 750,000 and 1,000,000.

Don't know what the XB1X will sell on day 1 or for the month. Will probably depend on how many Microsoft ships as well.

Do you have numbers for PS4 Pro ? Did Sony even give us sales numbers for the PS4 Pro Only?

@blackace: Yeah, Sony gave numbers on the Pro. Can't quite recall what they were. Something like for every ten PS4s sold, one is a Pro. Don't quote me on that tho. As I said I don't really recall and cannot look it up right now.

Anyway, this isn't a discussion about the Pro, which I don't particularly care about to begin with. It's a X1X sales prediction thread. Not too surprising to see certain somebodies trying to derail the thread tho.....

@reduc_ab_: all they are really trying to point out is the obvious troll attempt by a cow to make a thread about a system they don't care about. By stating the obvious, no lems, made a thread about the PS4 Pro sales expectations(because they don't care about it) and no cows did either(because they don't care about it)

Will push an NPD win in November. Possibly December, too. Steep decline in January and February. Bump in March for tax returna but may or may not pull a win. Switch and PS4 deep-six'es XBox for the rest of the year.

Last I checked, 4k TVs were at only a 15 percent market penetration.

Combined with the fact that it is 500 dollar mid-gen hardware upgrade that will primarily be playing upscaled current gen games until the PS5 drops.

And with Microsoft downplaying its sales before it has even hit store shelves.

500-700k sounds about right with a huge amount of stock sitting on store shelves or in warehouses that Microsoft will claim is 'sold.'

If the X1X wasn't the child of the marketplace failure of the Xbox One and third parties were going to actually target it and not just upscale their current gen games it would probably do a bit better.

Anyway, I've said many times that the PS4 Pro is pointless. The only way I'd buy it is if my OG PS4 broke, and the thing went on sale. Otherwise I think it was a mistake by Sony. Somehow, every time I say this it gets ignored. Gee, I wonder why.

Well like he said in his post, we never saw/see threads from cows (or lems) about PS4 Pro... but we see an XB1 X thread from you guys every 2nd day (and not just after this E3, ever since last E3 ffs). I wonder why...

There will be no way of knowing who was close to the actual sales numbers since Microsoft is the only console maker who doesn't put out actual sold to customer numbers.

The X1X will almost certainly be claimed to 'sell' a somewhere in the one to two million range by Microsoft but with a large amount of that stock still sitting on store shelves.

The first year of the Xbox 360, Microsoft tried to claim they had sold some 10.5 million 'sold' but in reality they had only sold some 8 million with 2.5 million or so units sitting on store shelves or sitting in warehouses. Microsoft so over-stuffed the retail channel that they didn't ship any new Xbox 360s for some six months after the holiday sales period.

Highly likely Microsoft will do the same.

I think the XB1X is going to hurt Xbox sales in months leading up to its release, much in the same way we saw a dip in PS4 sales up after the Pro unveiling up until its release when things were back on track. Even though it's just a fraction of people getting the beefier of the two PS4 options, I guess people just wanted to wait and see before deciding which one to buy. I think in Microsoft's case it's going to be no different.

That being said, I'm excited to get one. Though I wish the price would've been $400, I'll still splurge $500 on it. Hopefully that price is a barrier that guarantees I'll get one. Hopefully this isn't one of those items scalpers try gobblign up all the inventory on early, I won't buy scalped prices.

I'll shoot for a million...lol. I mean you have the holidays coming up so that'll boost sales. Black Friday will help push the sales of 4K TV which is a plus for Xbox One X & Pro consoles. Price is $500 but it's a premium product, similar to the Xbox One Elite controllers and those sold pretty well and had a phase of being sold out when first released. I expect the same from the Xbox One X. Plus count the ones who might plan on trading/selling the Xbox One or Xbox One S to upgrade for the Xbox One X...

Someone remind me how the Xbox One is a failure again. 30+million units is pretty damn good.

MS doesn't release numbers making this thread is more useless than the PSVR.
