This is a tough post to write. I love Nintendo. If I get a tattoo I'm going to slip either a green 1 Up mushroom or a triforce into it. I have owned every single Nintendo console ever. Three days ago I sold my Wii to pay for my new premium 360. I am very happy with it. I have four games right off the bat. I play Live every night.
I still like Nintendo. They are the most innovative, smart, know what your customer wants companies out there. Frankly though the Wii wasn't enough. Wii Sports was fun as hell...for about a month. Zelda is one of the best games I've ever played. I just can't warrant owning a system where I have to wait 6 months to play a good game. I know its not their fault, its the third parties, but you know what Nintendo? Its not my fault either.
Online was also a pretty big thing for me. I loved my old Xbox, and going from that to the Wii was hard. I know they will have it eventually, but A: I shouldn't have to wait, and B: The friend code system is terrible.
One other thing. I am not a graphics whore. I was fighting alongside other sheep saying its not what matters, its the gameplay. I still hold to it, but I am sick of lowering my standards just for loyalty, or so that I can play the next Mario (as amazing as it will be). I like the leap in technology, and I know those will get better on the Wii as well, but there is too many games, too many features that all the other systems have standard, that we are on hands and knees begging Nintendo to give us. Well I'm done begging. I still support Nintendo but I now do it through Microsoft.
