From Software is EASILY One of the Best Devs. This Gen

I can't express how much I love these guys. They're a great developer who makes great FULLY FINISHED games.
Demon's Souls and 3D Dot Game Heroes are two of my favorite games this gen, they felt complete, no game breaking bugs or anything. More developers/publishers should take note from this developer.

Also, announcing that there will be no DLC for Dark Souls, along with a $60 Limited Edition for only pre-ordering? What is not to like?

No, they're not. From is very hit and miss.

Last gen they had greats like Otogi 1 and 2 and ridiculously bad games like Murakumo.

This gen they had a hit with Demon's Souls and may have another with Dark Souls. But stuff like Ninja Blade and Steel Battallion hardly qualifies you for one of the best devs.

If Dark Souls really hits the sweet spot than they may, but From is never consistently great, they're always on and off and it can be really jarring as a fan to have to deal with that.

Those are some of my favourite series. Armoured core 2 was so baws, covered in that chocolate SAUWS.

They are one of the biggest surprise hit devs this gen.

They make one great game along with some ok games and we are already putting them on a pedestal? Let's leave that to the more established developers. Not to take away credit from these guys though.millerlight89

Demon Soul was amazing, but From Software has also made plenty of mediocre titles, so no way in hell tey deserve to be counted among the best.

Last gen they made the Otogis, and those games were really, really fun (knocking demons through scenery never got old).

I agree with the thread consensus that From is inconsistent, but IMHO they are consistent enough that they'd be a wise purchase.

From Software didn't make 3D Dot Game Heroesthey just published it in Japan FYI. Demon's Souls was great but Enchanted Arms sucked. Dark Souls should be great as well. They are a good developer no doubt but they do make some mediocore games sometimes (Enchanted Arms)

Not when they made Enchanted Arms, which is arguably one of the worst RPGs this gen. They more than made up for it with Demons Souls though, and I can't wait for Dark Souls.

From Software's lineup has been way too inconsistent for them to be considered "one of the best devs this gen." They've made some great games this gen like Demon's Souls and Chromehounds but they also put out crap like Tenchu Z and Enchanted Arms.

And by the way, From Software did not make or develop 3D Dot Game Heroes. They were only the publishers for the Japanese release. Silicon Studio are the devs so I'm not sure why everyone is claiming From Software is.

If they actually release their games on PC I would be able to tell you. Funny how a game that is really suited for the PC market has no release on that platform.

They really should especially looking at The Witcher 2 sales but I guess PC isn't hip with the japanese.
