The PS3 sales were actually hurt pretty badly by the PSN outage, as well. The same thing happens every year. PS3 starts gaining a small lead over the 360 (mostly from Japan, and Europe) for a few months early in the year, and then come the holidays (the largest factor of the entire year) 360 outsells PS3 2:1 and negates that lead.

That is also bullsh!t on PS3 selling more software. VGcharts has 360 at644.12 million software, and PS3 at555.83. 360 also outsold it 2:1 in software last holidays according to both their fiscal reports (80+ million to 40 million), and 360 and Wii usually dominate every top 10-20 chart in USA+europe.

Actually, I dont think there's ever been a top 10-20 software chart not from Japan, that Sony's dominated in.

No, but the PS3 had a price cut. The Xbox 360 did have a price cut, but still sold almost as many units as the PS3.

If you remove Japan from these equations the 360 is winning in every category worldwide. Japan is the Playstations only edge.

Im starting to think that comparison is off. So many things are wrong on it, like the PS3s USB ports, sales in 2011, overall software sales, top XBLA sales, etcnavyguy21

There are mistakes in that chart. For one, there is absolutely no way PS3 sold more software.

Second, 360 was the highest selling console of 2011. It even outsold the Wii, because that is the first year that 360 outsold EVERY console in a year.

There is no difference in online play between the two, MS doesn't run jack sh!t, neither does Sony. P2P is handeld by your internet and connects via ISP to the host through the companies network of that game, they arn't real servers, they just handle matchmaking at most.

Only dedicated servers there is a real cost involved and real bandwidth attached. You seem to be the one misinformed here friend.

Wait... so that means PS3 sells more games then the 360 overall? Color me surprised. Still they cant say MS will dominate next gen cause we still know nothing about their next console. Also everyone were saying PS3 would dominate this gen before it started and see how it turned out... If MS doesnt improve their 1st party support I really REALLY doubt they'll win next gen. Kinect wont save it

1.the ps3 doesn't have ps2 bc anymore unless you get a launch system, and the 360 doesn't have the majority of original xbox games and teh ones it does have are flawed except a choice few.

2.the 360 only has up to 1080I output? lol what?

3.6 usb ports? not anymore, and the new slim 360 has 5...

4.paid sub better online servers?
