Who is the steam machine's target audience? If it is PC gamers they wouldn't buy because they have a PC that out performs it. Console folks aren't buying because they have the specific games on their system.

I'm pretty sure I'm not one of those since I own a better one. But in fairness I think their target are those who want to try PC Gaming but is afraid to build a gaming rig? Or those who were massively disappointed in this generation's console gaming and wants to switch to PC Gaming but has no great knowledge of building a gaming one? I think it's safe to assume they're targeting a niche one.

Steam Machines will launch with over 1 500 games, compared with the Xbox One's and PlayStation 4's 20 or so titles at launch. Chances are, there will be more games you'll like with Steam Machines at launch than with that pathetic launch lineup that the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 had.

Halo 5 will only die if, and when a better shooter comes out. IE when Halo 6 comes out. Until that time comes, Halo 5 will remain the current king of FPS.

A lack of first party games or exclusives, an OS based on Linux so most notable Steam games are missing, an incompatibility with other clients so games like World of Warcraft, Hearthstone, League of Legenda, Minecraft, and anything EA, won't work on the systems, all in a prebuilt PC package? Forgive me, I'm not seeing the formidable backing here.

No Fallout, No COD, No GTAV, No Rocket League, No MGSV, No AC Snydicate. Who the **** wants a console that can't play the years biggest games? I can get a fucking WiiU for that. Okay, then.

I enjoy my exclusives and ease of use, but I do have some interest. The problem is, I already have too much on my plate as it is and the Nintendo NX is also right around the corner. I really just don't have the need.

At the end of the day, they are just PCs and have always been there for those that want one. These things will not be making any dents into the console market for reasons that are obvious.

@360ru13r: Considering most of the games I buy are on Steam, I'm actually considering it. It'll be cheaper than getting a new gaming PC (my current laptop needs upgrading/replacing to play the latest games).

Totally different scenarios, little boy. Of course those games would've died, people moved on to the Xbox One and no further support for those games. Halo 5 will receive frequent updates from free new modes, like Forge to free new maps. Its multiplier, which is the swan song of the FPS genre, will get even better as time passes.

No one is going to buy them except for maybe a VERY small percentage of console gamers who want the extra boost in horsepower, but either don't have the knowledge of how to build a PC or just don't want to.

Add that to the fact that the majority of the general population wandering into a Best Buy or Wal-Mart have no fucking idea what "Valve" or "Steam" even are and you have a recipe for a pretty big flop.

Forge is not a free new mode, its a damned delayed feature... learn the difference for f*cks sake. Free New maps? great... glad to see it took them 8+ games to friggin learn from VALVE on how to monetise and support products. But still, we will see.... Halo is king of nothing anymore.
