Galaxy can "proudly stand next to the Best-looking 360 and PS3 games"

Yet another glowing preview of Super Mario Galaxy! Its from IGN, but it's not from Matt or Bozon. Here are some quotes from it!

"This is one Wii game that can proudly stand next to the best-looking Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 games."

Definitely the best looking Wii game and will be for probably a very long time. Third Party Developers are definitely going to have to take it up a notch once this game hits shelves.

You flaunt SMG's graphics here, but if I were to post images of mgs4, crysis, etc. You would claim graphics don't matter. Sheep are capable of a complete ideological 180, instantly, how?

But, to get on topic. Galaxy does look great, stand next to the best looking PS3/360 games? Hell naw. Look like a next-gen game? Of course.

I'm so tired of the Mario's, Zelda's, and all the other characters I grew up with, I can't take it anymore, but if this game is great, then god bless all Ninty fans and enjoy!

No it proves that over a very long span of time, you can get more out of less. Thats what happens when you have hardware you already know how to use, you find more efficient ways to use it.

Its kinda sad actually when you think about it, the Wii (in the graphics department) is still competing with the GC and Xbox, while the worst looking Ps3 or 360 game automatically has better graphics than any xbox 1 game. And there are still only a few Wii games that look better than the best xbox games...

Super Mario Galaxy may be an awesome game, and is one of the Wii games that I'm interested in. But does it look as good graphically as 360 or PS3 games? Not a chance. Not even close.RobbieH1234

The art ****makes it look good enough to compete. I guarantee that if a game used the same kind of art on the PS3 or 360, the only difference you would see is things like better grass effects and AA which could reduce the few jaggies that actually exist. I honestly think that PS3 and 360 games would look almost the exact same, just with some added detail were they to use the cartoony look of SMG.

I'm guessing with that statement they mean it's one of the few Wii games that don't look like PS2 games and actually looks really nice with those shader effects spammed all over the place...

But with color...

Wasn't Miyamoto one of the people who helped develop the Wii? Even if he's not, he's basically nintendo to some people. Mario is his baby. Galaxy by him probably takes advantage of every single thing the wii is capable of doing. This may be a title that is this good looking b/c it pushes the wii to the limit. 360 or PS3 haven't even come close to that level yet. This is just speculation of course, but the disparity b/n galaxy graphics to every other game (yes even SSBB and MP3) maybe shows this is the greatest wii has to offer. manningbowl135

Not it is not the best the Wii has to offer. If it was then why could the Xbox run Ninja Gaiden Black on almost the exact same specs? It is all about the games art and how much time is put into a game. I hope for Team Ninja's sake that NG DS goes over well because I would like them to spend some time and make a visually enticing Wii game that rivals the top Xbox games, if not having better graphics. I do not even think that the Xbox was actually maxed out and fully utilized to be honest, it could have done more.
