Galaxy can "proudly stand next to the Best-looking 360 and PS3 games"

well it does look very good, but thats rpobably due to the bright colors and stuff.

No it proves that over a very long span of time, you can get more out of less. Thats what happens when you have hardware you already know how to use, you find more efficient ways to use it.

I call bull. 360 games always looked better than XBox games, and PS3 games always looked better than PS2 games. It's not a matter of staying with the same hardware, updated a bit each gen, forever.

It is all about the games art and how much time is put into a game.

If that's true then does it really matter? Yes art ****is great and they can make SSBB, SMG, MP3 and Zack and Wiki look fantastic. But when making games like MoH or CoD where realistic graphics actually enhance the realism and enhance the gameplay, you can't use art ****and the graphics suffer compared to 360 or PS3 b/c you can't really use art ****to those games b/c that would actually ruin those games. IMO art **** actually hide the shortcomings of a certain hardware and games relying on realistic graphics bring it out...don't get me wrong, Mario looking great for art **** is great, but if the Wii can do the same with the next MoH or another realistic looking game, I'll believe wii has good graphics for this gen.

uh... ever played super mario 64? If yes, then imagine that with way more level variety, new features using the Wii-mote, no camera problems, mario suits that resemble stuff from Super Mario Bros. 3, WAY better graphics, and a form of multi-player.

ACtually, Mario Strikers Charged was made by Next Level Games. Who developed the original, a game called NHL Hitz Pro as their first, and are developing SpiderMan: Friend or Foe for all consoles...

They're very third pary, Nintendo outsources all their sports and Mario Party games...

I have to agree about Kameo. that game pimp slaps Galaxy. maybe the journalist hasn't played any of those games recently?

I don't really understand why anyone doubts this game. When was the last time a Mario platformer ever AVERAGED a review score of lower than 9?

For as long as people have been reviewing games, I don't think it has ever happened.

That's not to say GS will automatically give it a 9 or above, but it makes it a much safer bet than if the series had some bad games in it. Thing is, Mario is top-notch. He's still the king of games. This game looks like it could be his best 3-D effort, which is saying A LOT!

Unfortunately, third-party developers will probably never put out Wii games that look this good. Nintendo is making use of their thorough knowledge of the Wii to push it to its utmost potential with this game. Most devs won't bother to do that.

i do think mario galaxy is a "great" looking game. i cant wait to play it. but i dont think that it really can stand next to the 360 or ps3 games coming out. just the resolution of the game makes it not as smooth and attractive as the 360 and ps3 titles. take kameo for instance. i feel the styles and colors of boths games are near one another "not only was kameo born a cube game RARE learned everything they now know from nintendo" if you put the two games side by side they are comparable graphicly in my opinoin. but the 5 times the resolution really helps kameo edge out galaxy. Do i think galaxy is amazing looking? hell yea for what the wii can pump out. do i think the wii is going to pump out even better looking games? hell yea! btu in most cases wii games will still be a step below what the ps3 and 360 can pump out not only because of processing power but also because of the resolutions the games are displayed in.

on a side note i have my wii run through a hdmi convertor/upscaler so it is displayed at 1080p this helped with some of the jaggies on my hdtv. gmaes like twillight princess look stunning run this way. i suggest doing it if you have the extra money to buy a 400 dollar convertor (the cheapest i had seen one)

There are some great-looking 3rd party games in every generation, and Nintendo consoles haven't been excluded from that.

That's actually a very good idea. I've never heard of someone running their Wii through a converter to upscale it. I might give that a try.
