Calling B:AA the "Bioshock of 2009" just makes my view on it worse.

I agree. I didnt like Bioshock at all really. Its completely overrated, and is a completely different genre than B:AA, which makes the comparison useless. Ill give Batman more of a chance, and not compare it to a crap game.
I loved bioshock and I think im going to like AA, but I don't see the comparison here, I played the demo and I see no similarities. I think its a stupid statement. At any rate, it got a 9.5 so it will probably be good.
So it'll get bashed by those oh sooo hardcore System Shock (one of my favorite franchises, I might add) "fans", too? Nice. Can't wait to tune out on those posts.
Anyways, much like BioShock, Arkham Asylum will be fantastic, but minority hate will be strong and loud.
lol i just laughed a lot.. the only thing this 2 games have in common is the engine. lancedgt
Both are more enclosed and desolate places with nutjobs running it. I can see some comparisons.
lol a lot of people sure hate Bioshock. Well it was one of my favourite games this gen, just amazing experience. Anyways comparing that to Batman is weird, their not even the same type of game.

Only on the internets. It's the only place you really see so much negativity. Most people out and about who game really loved BioShock, as did the critics. The loud minority wanted a direct sequel to System Shock 2. And that's never what they were getting. EA has that one. Go beg them. 2K isn't giving it to you.
BioShockOwnzmy problem with it had nothing to do with System Shock 2, which I've never played, and everything to do with the game itself.
me too. i guess people like to dump on things just because they are popular.lol a lot of people sure hate Bioshock. Well it was one of my favourite games this gen, just amazing experience. Anyways comparing that to Batman is weird, their not even the same type of game.

You seem to be in the minority with said opinion. Nothing wrong with that, of course.
8.8 from over 12,000 PC gamers.

9.2 from over 20,000 360 gamers.

9.1 from over 2,000 PS3 gamers.

And a majority average of 96 on Metacritic.
Not every person doesn't have to like a game, but that doesn't mean it's not quality. I hate MGS4 with every fiber of my soul, but it's still quality.

I didn't like it either and I hadn't played System Shock either. I just found that I was really impressed by the graphics and from there in out it was just Condemned on acid.

It didn't feel anything like Condemned to me. While I like Condemned, the story didn't offer any interesting characters, a unique world, or really anything. Sure, it was quite atmospheric, and did that quite well, but it felt like a Monolith game through and through.

To me it was the melee combat that made it seem like condemned (you even got that sweeping visual effect when you swing the wrench), and I remember finding the controls rather awkward (sensitivity maybe? couldn't put my finger on it) for gunplay, just like in condemned.
I didn't mind that I just found the game to be rather jerky and it pretty much lost its mysticism more or less as soon as the first splicer appeared... For me at least.

Does'nt change the fact that they meant it as high praise.
I'm sure they meant as far as atmosphere and and storytelling goes.
Oh no. That means it's going to be overrated beyond belief, have a mediocre story and combat, or Eidos flashed the cash yet again :PaaronmullanI'm thinking eidos flashed the cash. Seriously, I played the demo, and it wasn't that great, I just don't see 9.5 anywhere but graphics.

Well, I can tell you why I thought it was, but didn't we go over this like.. A few weeks ago?
Quick question, what DO you like? CRPGs like Planescape and Icewind Dale, Diablo, Warcraft 2, Quake, Doom/Doom 2, TF2, TF Original, Final Fantasy games, Lost Odyssey, Blue Dragon is okay, Halo 3, Crackdown, RE games, love Silent Hill, Culdcept games, Tetris Attack games, puzzle games, JRPGs, obviously, Dead Space was alright, Platformers, side scrollers, party games, Forza 2 and GT 3 were good, GTA VC,SA, IV... pretty much everything but sports games Bioshock was lame because it had crappy gunplay, the wrench was more effective, it was too easy, the hacking and levelling was pointless, and the game was predictable as could be.[QUOTE="Jandurin"]Bioshock was quite disappointing.falconclan

Not sure if we personally did. You don't seem to be a big fan of many western games in general. (no offence, just an observation)[QUOTE="Yandere"][QUOTE="SparkyProtocol"] How is Bioshock's story mediocre? SparkyProtocol
