So, according to GI, Fable 2 is looking to live up to it's promises of being bigger and better as we have hoped. They said that there are just "ridiculous amounts of content in the game" and that "play times will easily rival Oblivion." Also, they mentioned that "no 2 play-throughs will ever be the same." Sounding good for Fable 2, aye?

They'd have to have a land 20 times as big as Fables to get half the content Oblivion had. Fable had a patheticly small and linear world.

Fable is my most memorable games of all time. I think it was my favorite game of last-gen. It's not easy for a game to do that. I mean, it didn't get amazing reviews, but I must have played through the game 10 times and still love it. I can't wait for this one, it's my most anticipated game ever.

Oblivion is what you make of it though. The main quest honestly took me 9 hours tops. Even after achieving the highest rank in most guilds I still was only at about 30 hours which is not very long to me. Fable 2 will be a good game but I'm unsure of how good it will be.

People dissed it when they found out they could beat the game in 10-12 hours, but most of those same people considered Oblivion to be a huge epic, a game that could also be completed in a day off work. If you want to see everything and do everuthing in an RPG, it'll take you a while, but if you want to rush through, then it will only last as long as your typical game. For me, personally, I don't play RPG's to rush through. Fable 2 is gonna be an amazing game and a game environment that I want to explore from top to bottom.

There are plenty of quests you haven't done then. GI wasn't talking about the main quest btw.

Yes, the artwork is actually quite beautiful.;) Games do not have to look like Crysis in order to be considered graphically impressive, my friend....especially high fantasy RPG's. This game's visuals are supposed to have a fantastical appearance. Afterall, the name of the game is Fable, lol.

That's honestly what killed Oblivion for me. Morrowind was very diverse as far as environments go while Oblivion just felt the same all over. It was either forest, jungle forest, snow forest, or coastal forest. I hope future open world RPGs don't follow the environment trend that Oblivion did, it had its visual moments but after an hour or two there was no incentive for me to travel by foot.

The thing in Oblivion that got old for me was the repetitive nature of caves, ruins and the ever so boring Oblivion gates. Don't get me wrong, I love Oblivion to death, but my God, lol. Fable 2 is bound to have more variety in it's settings.

I won't defend Oblivion. It's one of my biggest disappointments. Morrowind was far superior.

I'm really cynical towards previews now. I went to have a look at all the previews for the original Killzone for a laugh. Instead I feel really depressed.

This industry loves to build up our hopes with hyperbole, and then fling them down the toilet :(

I really hope this game turns out good though.

Oblivion was so overrated imo...

The side quests made me lose interest in the entire game. They seemed like they were time killers and basically pointless. I kept doing the quests and overall lost interest in the game, thus not coming close to completing the main story.

In Fable 2, Hopefully, the side quests seem to actually matter in the world.

Oh yeah, everytime I went into a cave it was almost identical spare a few.

That reminds me, Fable had some really pretty cities and environments. There were nice forests, dark forests, relaxing contryside, barren cliffs, snowy-seaside villages.

Well considering you could easily beat the game at any level there was really no incentive to level up unless you were doing Daedric shrine quests which were probably my favorite part of the game before the Shivering Isles expansion.

Exactly! So there was no reason to do the sidequests because you didn't need to level up!

Plus, there was no effect on being evil, good and the world didn't seem that lively to me. Oblivion was so F'n overrated.

Lets also hope that they hire more than four voice actors. Patrick Stewart was the only one that was enjoyable to listen, mainly because he has such an amazing voice and I'm a huge TNG fan :P

Oblivion plus the expansion packs easily max out several hundred hours.....

If fable to can match that.... I STILL wont buy it, I don't have a 360... :(

It makes sense IN THEORY, but it took the punch out of exploration and looting. I remember in morrowind, when Deadric armor was deadric armor! Those were the days! In oblivion, once you get fancy armor, everyone gets it! It makes some sense but they went overboard, I think.

Pfft, I don't understand people wanting games realistic. Realistic doesn't equal better.

But it does increase immersion which in some cases is better, depending on what type of game it is... and since Fable is a role-playing game, immersion is a massive factor in determining it's quality.

Fable 2 might be a great game, there's no way to tell right now. However, Oblivion can only be played in one way... that is a character that can do anything and everything, the only difference is you get to choose whether or not you want to be an ugly human, ugly elf, ugly cat or ugly lizard.

I never liked the first Fable, too much action and not enough role-playing for my tastes. I will keep an eye on the second one just because I have a 360 now.

TES has never really been about that although there used to be penalties for beating the snot out of quest characters and that was you had to start the game from a save where you didn't kill the game essential character. Although I do wish they had some other penalties and benefits from being part of guilds like the dark brotherhood. You'd figure my status with a certain guild would prevent me from going to jail or get me discounts on properties.

Perhaps TESV will play more into good and evil and a more social world.

uhhhh.. no.... Great art st///yle and graphics improve immersion. The only time realistic art st///yle will improve immerson over a different st////yle is when graphics are capable of reaching CGI quality. Even then, different art st////yles can be just as good.

btw, why is st//yle bleeped out?

Vampire: The Masquerade Bloodlines would have been a pretty bland role-playing game if it had been cel-shaded and cartoony. :?
