Game Informer Fable 2 impressions, game time that will easily rival Oblivion?

Sorry for using this thread to answer my greedy personal inquiry, but I didnt play the first Fable. Should I play the first Fable to be able to follow the story or something?

Or will it be like the Elder Scrolls games which are in the same universe but have different stories?

Oblivions play-styles involved hitting things unsatisfyingly with a sword or mallet. Again. and Again and Again.

Nothing is worse than being forced into a play style, when the game gives you impression you have freedom.

I certainly hope Fale 2 doesent do the same.
