[QUOTE="Ospi"]COD4 coming to PC? Guess it will be a port though.Meu2k7
So far its PC Exclusive, or being published first on PC like UT3, but it will be on the consoles probably.
It will be released simultaneously on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.

Hope its being specifically developed for the PC and consoles separatly and not ported badly, best of all worlds then.

Infinity Ward developed the Xbox 360 & PC versions of Call of Duty 2 separately. One was not ported to the other. The same will be true of COD4 - no version will be ported to the other.
Well I think we all know COD4 isn't going to be a PC Exclusive...I Loved COD1 never played the other two. That and I prefer DoD Source over COD1 MP for some reason it just seemed that COD MP was filled with newbs (on the PC).
Yeah I think people need to stop talking about Crysis cause people will get tired of that title coming up and again, but at the same time people need to stop comparing other games to it or bashing it (the TC didn't need to bring up crysis).
Many say we know very little about Crysis i.e story or even levels for that matter we haven't seen but probably 10% of it, and that makes me happy cause then most the game will be a suprise. But if you go back and read the reviews of Far Cry I think we can judge Crytek doesn't make games that flop.
With all that said, Yes COD4 looks great (to me it looks likes a souped up BF2 which is alright with me). I can't wait for it to come out on the Wii...lol i mean PC so I can play it. Sorry sheep I had too, don't worry we got SSBB.
I will wait for it to be released before deciding if it's really "the best FPS ever." Too many times have the idiot gaming media mislead gamer's perceptions of upcoming titles. Most recently, 1UP said that Super Paper Mario was the most fun they'd ever had playing a game - it scored an 8/10 the following month.
Who all has read the new cover story article in the new Game Informer regarding Call of Duty 4? I just got my issue in the mail today, and was blown away with the in engine gameplay screens, and details of the game. Game Informer said that it is the best FPS that they have EVER seen....period.
"Anything that runs under 60 FPS will be thrown out", according to Infinity Ward. An example being, even with unbelievably lifelike grass physics swaying in the wind in the middle of intense battles, enemies, gunfire, shrapnel, explosions all around, the frame rate is supposed to remain smooth as silk at 60 FPS, and no less. The shadowing, lighting and textures are all incredible, and absolutely some of the best that GI has seen, and THE BEST PERIOD in a FPS....and I agree, based on what I have seen thus far.
Who would wish for a dumbed down version of Crysis on a console, when we can look forward to this baby instead? It looks overall to be a WAY more exciting game than Crysis does to me. That is just my opinion, and personal preference of course. Crysis looks great, but reminds me of a prettier, and advanced version of FarCry without the claws a bit too much. And the graphics in COD4 more than hold their own in my opinion, as they are looking simply fantastic in every regard. It is still early, yes, but it is looking MIGHTY good already.
Infinity Ward said that they are "really trying to push the envelope with FPS storytelling." It is not going to be based on current conflicts, instead, Infinity Ward said that they "wanted to avoid politics, as well as allow themselves room for a little more creative freedom". They said, "We are going to give players a robust enemy, that uses high/modern tech warfare just as the Western powers do, and will give them a real run for their money" as a result.
"It will be set against a Russian Warlord with ties to the Russain mafia, and old oil money as the main villian. His name will be Zakhaev, and he will be masterminding a military coup in an as of yet unnamed middle eastern country simply to distract the Western powers while he consolidates his power in Russia. The story will start with the first recon missions by the U.S. marines deploying in the unnamed middle eastern country in response to the coup, and it quicky will grow into a massive look into what a large-scale war would llike tommorow using todays technologies." GI goes on to also say that there will be plenty of theaters within this game, taking place in various regions....one great aspect of COD that will remain unchanged....only enhanced greatly.
I do not know about you guys, but this game is shaping up to blow COD 2, 3, and games like Ghost Recon away, and in my opinion, and agreeing with Game Informer, COD4 is so far looking like the best FPS war game that I have ever seen as well. Time will tell, as more info on this bad ass looking/sounding game comes in. Cannot wait.

turning point: fall of liberty looks way way better. cod4 seems like another battlefield.

Boit look superb, and COD4 looks nothing like BF2 to me. It seems one doesn't have to empty an ENTIRE clip into someone to kill them, ala BF2, there seems to be a good story, interesting gameplay mechanics, etc.
And to all those bringing Crysis into this; No **** it looks better. if you are going to be bringing this up with EVERY SINGLE game you see this gen, I can promise you you will be most unhappy. I'm pumped for Crysis, and have put aside $400 JUST so I can play it, but it is ONE game.

No it is not PC exclusive, lol. Game Informer said that it is coming to PS3, and 360 in the article. Also, all of the screens that they show within the article are all "in engine gameplay running on Xbox360 dev kits." I am sitting here reading it right now. That is why I created this thread in the first place, because it is coming to the 360, and the PS3 as well, lol. Sorry, PC boys. Now you know.

So many things wrong with that statement
like what?
Its going to be a cross between CoD3 (which I think is excellent) and Battlefield 2 : Modern Combat. BF2 was an excellent games but had flaw, no doubt because EA published it, but the format was excellent, and if the CoD3 guys are doing it then this will onlt be a good thing. C0D3 has very nice graphics and this raises the bar again.
I cant wait.

What is wrong with his statement, is that COD4 IS NOT PC EXCLUSIVE. The new game Informer shows pics of in engine gameplay, running on 360 dev kits. It states further that it will be realeased on the PS3, 360, and PC simultaneously.
