Im probably going to get a lot of **** for this but .............. Call of Duty 4. It was a phenomenal game that for better or for worse transformed the FPS market.

Uncharted 2 had some tough competition, especially Batman , AC2, and MW2. So it winning GOTG isn't unlikely.

Best game of the generation? Tales of Graces f, no contest. (That can change though, this generation isn't over yet.)

But what would be the game to DEFINE this generation of games? I'd say it's Call of Duty. It's pretty much the standard for EVERY DAMN SHOOTER on the market today. Every shooter tries to mimic Call of Duty. It sucks. Call of Duty is a pretty mediocre game to begin with. But casuals are easily amused by Call of Duty's overly-scripted campaigns because they have shiny graphics and some cinematic events. So the CoD formula sells well.

Fallout: New Vegas. Beat my second playthrough and am probably going to do a third soon. It really is an amazing game. Also has some of the best dlc ever made.

• Skyrim (pc version)

• Starcraft 2
• Crysis (I believe it would count as this gen if im not mistaken)
• Red Dead Redemption

Demons Souls, easily...

Looking at it from all angles, the only answer that completely satisfies that question in my humble opinion is Batman Arkham City. It does so many various things yet manages to do each of them with a higher level of quality than most games that focus on each individual aspect. It's truly this gen's masterpiece.

I go with Bioshock. It completely blew me away from the opening section to the awesome twist and beyond. I loved the plasmids, bees, spring vortexs, melting dat ice with the fire tonics, and turning the enemies on each other. :) And the traps you could set. And the best thing about it was just the immersion, it completely sucked me in. The sound design and graphics were amazing on release and the water effects gave incredible illusion that the rapture was crumbling around you. The only gripe was that it was too easy but it was such an amazing experience I dont really care bout that. Maybe Bioshock Infinite can top it? We will see :)

There was lots of other awesome contenders though like Shogun 2, Batman AC, Demons Souls and even the Darkness (for all its faults).

Burnout Paradise or Batman AC..Portal 2 is up there too.....
