This is coming from a die-hard GTA fan - I think MGS4 will get GOTY. It's the best game I've ever played, which is something I wasnt expecting. I knew it would be good, but I didnt know it would be this good.

Seriously, this game is the funnest game I've ever played. I've played video games since the days of the NES. It's the funnest game I've ever played. I'm not going to say it's the best game ever as fact, but for me, it is.

Multi plat doesn't neccessarily make GTA IV more popular-- it just its!

MGS 4 is'nt for everybody... GTA 4 has a broader audience. A lot of my girlfriends over the years picked up my PS2 controller and played GTA and never batted an eye lash at the Metal Gear series.

1.5 million copies < 10 million copies ( I won't resort to name calling because well... its beneath me)

GTA IV is at 2nd and 4th place on the Gamerankings top 10...

and have over 50 reviesw for the PS3 and over seventy for the 360!

The year is only 1/2 over so there is still a LOT of other games coming out that have a chance to be GOTY. MGS4 may have gotten a 10 here and on IGN, but not everyone game it a 10. Check Gamerankings and you'll see GTA IV is still beating it by 5pts. in the rankings. There were 5 reviewers that gave MGS4 8.0-8.5 score and there were several 9.0 as well. So, no I wouldn't say the game is a perfect 10. Seems like it got mixed reviews compared to GTA IV.

We still have Spore, Gear of War 2, Resistance 2, LBP, Infinite Undiscovery, Tales of Vesperia, Banjo 3, Halo Wars and several other titles coming out that may turn out to be great games as well.

All I found was bogus predictions that MGS4 will sell 1.5 million on it's 1st day. No actually press release from Konami or Sony yet. We'll wait until Monday for the real news.

The world has the game, Gamespot has the game, IGN has the game, the worlds professional reviewers have the game, then let them know mate, cause all I hear is praise with exception to the 2 or 3 bad apples that are entitled to their own opnion, just like you are. Out of the list, I have only played GTA IV so I cannot make my pick. MGS4 must've been really good. I believe GTA IV is close to MGS4. Maybe the driving sucked, and some other stuff but all around great game.

People already lost interest in GTA IV, so no one talks about it. All i see now is cows going crazy for they're first AAAAE, but watch out, in a few months, no one will even mention that game. It's supposed to be the last game in the series right?

i agree it was a great game but after Midnight Club 3: DUB Edition: Remix and Need for Speed Carbon the driving was like a slap in the face. I mean, I'm a huge fan of racing games and that was just like "Uhhh.... no." I actually took personal offense to that.

No, they probably should though. This may be one reason most gamers don't respect their scores. Cows were screaming and yelling at how poorly Gamespot has scored their exclusives and now they are jumping for joy. LOL!! The flip_flopping cows have returned. :lol: Still, the fact that many sites are even giving it 9's just proves to me and everyone else in the world that the game isn't perfect. I'm sure it's a great game and I'll definitely get it next year when I can get it cheap on EBay, there are still other titles that will deserve GOTY before the year is over.

Owned? GTA IV scored better over. The same people game GTA IV 10's just like MGS4 and GTA IV sold like 3.5 million on day one. Where is the link that says MGS4 sold 1.5 million copies on it's first day. I guess I'll have to find it myself. At least Konami will be happy.

Dont worry mate, everyone gets owned once in a while. But it aint happnin tonite *WINK*: Listen MAN! Take a look at the PS3's install base and than the 360's combine them together, now add all those that have played pirated copies in 3rd world countries on their PC's cause they cant afford consoles take that sum and compare to the isntall base for the PS3 and a game that has a story so complex that u need freakin PHD's to get it (exxageration). Obviously your gonna get more copies being sold for GTA4, i never said MGS4 outsold GTA4, never dreamed of it ever doin it in the future, but I am saying its a better achievement, better game and the poll a couple of posts on top of my head proves it and as for the link to 1.5 million......its 1.3 (sry bout that) http://www.vgchartz.com/news/news.php?id=1297

Its a better game simply because it moves people, entertains them beyond just explosions and gun play.
