Diablo 3 fanbase. They piss and moan about it incessantly as if it's the biggest disappointment ever yet still continue playing. It baffles me.
Call of Duty. All the hardcore players have left for BF3 after CoD kept getting dumbed down each iteration. Now its fanbase are all casuals and the kiddies.
CoD, Halo, Pokemon, etc.
Anything incredibly popular (which in turn creates a rampant fanbase).
Now, I would say a ps3 exclusive, but they don't even have fanbases, so whatever.
Demons/Dark Soul.
"Our game is so hardcore the rest of the game just suck, and you suck too. We're so bada**."

Makes sense to me. If you don't like a certain something the logical thing would be to stop involving yourself in it.

It's because they all actually like the game. It's just the "cool" thing to say you don't like it, so most people claim to hate the game yet spend all of their time on it.

Exactly, which makes no sense to me.

Wrong. That's an even dumber argument. If you don't like something but know it can get good then you should give your contribution to make it better.
Indifference towards developers is something only consolites have.

He meant playing the game...How will playing a game improve it?
Contructive criticism is the only thing that works, and that's a hard thing to come by these days. People are just like "give me this, give me that". They never seem to talk about what the game does well and how the developer should expand on that.

And not playing the game would be a better contribution, right??
Why play something if you don't enjoy it? That's just stupid.
Even if I see potential in a game I don't currently like, I'm not about to continue subjecting myself to it in the hopes that it might improve. About the only thing you can do is give some contructive criticism and move on with your life.

You do realize what you're asking is incoherent with what you said before, right?
No, it's not. I said that it makes zero sense for people to be playing a game when they don't like it. You suggested that they play it so the game will improve, which makes no sense. How will playing a game you don't like whilst whining about it the entire time improve things?

There isn't a fanbase without bad apples.
Edit: Actually, QWOP seems to be without a negative fanbase.

I'll just take this as you admitting you have no argument and are giving up. Nice try.
Personally I think D3 failed to live up to D2, and on those terms it is a disappointment. I still find it to be a very fun and highly addictive game in it's own right though so I continue playing. I just don't understand why the people who bash the hell out of it and loathe it continue playing.

(He's probably talking about it like in terms of people who for example, dislike Skyrim where they maybe dislike the game right off the bat but people on the interwebz and everywhere else probably hassle the people into playing it some more simply because the gamer hasn't put much time into the game ((say 10 hours or so for a game like Skyrim)) for them in our eyes to truly give it a fair playthough. That's what I think he's getting at but even still I think what you're going on about is people who have put maybe hundreds of hours into the game while still complaining that it is a bad game to which I agree and have no clear understanding of why the heck people do things like that)
Easily. And this fan base is changing the direction of the way games are sold. If I was ea I'd be making the most obscene dlc for this game, because the fans will buy anything to have their game complete.Call of Duty.

That's different though. Many of Skyrim's biggest problems were merely simple bugs (not including the PS3 version, which was a mess) and are easily remedied. A lot of the problems people have with Diablo 3 are inherent in the gameplay and can't really be changed without a massive overhaul. In a case like that if you dislike the game, chances are you still wont like it further down the line.

You're the one who doesn't have an argument, dumbass.
Playing a game leads to voicing one's opinion, and with it comes criticism, and eventually, improvements. Saying "which makes no sense" means you have no f*cking clue of what game forums are for in the first place.
This has nothing to do with Diablo 3 itself. I think Diablo 3 sucks too, that doesn't mean your argument makes any sense.
My god SW is so full of people who have sh!t for brains.
(Recent) Bioware.
Not the 'worst ever' but I'm legitimately surprised no one has mentioned them yet, especially after the massive Dragon Age 2, SWOTOR then - who can forget - the Mass Effect 3 debacle.
The fanbase themselves is unintentionally utterly hilarious for most of the part, their forums are an utter goldmine for hilarity.
It's that over enthusiastic, well over the line that is rational fan and possibly disturbed that keeps popping up.
My point being -, just gaze over this image of forum sigs:
Anyway it's good that they're around at least, can't say many fanbases provide enough such a wealth of entertaining materal.

that one of the stupidest thing I have ever heard. Blind loyalty to a game devlooper is just as bad as blind loyalty to a piece of plastic. If a game sucks don't freaking buy it and support everything that is wrong with a game. If you support it then the devloper sees nothing wrong with thte game and keep making the same mistakes in the future.... unless you ment don't pirate the game, in which case derp, sorry :PPlease Log In to post.
