They ought to buy Actiblizzard. Blizzard practically prints its own money these days.

the only way this makes sense to me is that their bowing out of console race. This is becasue the whole point of the "microsoft gaming division" was to make money, which i beleieve they have still yet to do (they lost so much money on the original xbox) and paying $50m to rockstar (for episodic content) and buying up other exlusives means they will never make a profit.

the only way this makes sense to me is that their bowing out of console race. do you know how much those developers are worth? i knowMS has a lot of money, but i can't see this happening... all those multiplats- especially EA. well, if it does happen (it won't), you're right, the other consoles are finished.

I have the latest EGM and there's an article about this too. It talkes about how EA is expanding and if BioWare will become a sequel factory. Anyway it says upcoming games like Mass Effect 2 and 3, Jade Empire 2, and KOTOR 3, will still be mainly focused with Microsoft since they invested significant resources.

And this also implies to future games like GeOW 2 and 3 and so on. It'll stay with the Microsoft brand. I mean think of MGS4, people think it will mostly stay with the PS3, so why would anyone say something different for Mass Effect, Jade Empire, KOTOR, and Gears of War on stayin on the Microsoft machine.

no they are in the green now. they've made a little over a million now... i'm not sure the exact number. it's mainly because of the accessories.

Actually partly yeah. I mean we know Sony paid epic but 360 still doesn't have enough of a userbase so developers will make a game for PS3 PC and 360 because both are lacking in that department.

Its easier to port games from PS3 to 360.

In 08 I seriously believe Ps3 will increase its userbase dramatically making alot of 360's former exclusives multi. Look at Saints Row 2.

Of course it does. EA bought the Bioware name and its IP's. They cant force the staff to stay, so they had better treat them right.

Except that the developers of MGS4 have specifically stated if you want to play MGS4 you'll have to play it on PS3. Bioware never has said Mass Effect 2/3 would stay exclusive to 360. They only say they are in talks with microsoft (aka it pry wont happen unless MS pays up, even then I doubt EA woul let them keep it exclusive, maybe for 6 months). Havent' heard anything from Bizarre yet.

ea said to bioware if it aint broke don't fix it. they said all they want from bioware is to be able to put the ea logo on it.

Bungie said they will still develop for M$.

You have to understand cultural backgrounds as well as economic incentives. If a 3rd partygame can be ported from the 360 to the PS3 (or vice versa) then IT WILL HAPPEN. This of course can easily ba applied to non japansese developers because they will follow the money.

Japanese developers/publishers are a differant story. The work relationships in Japan are VASTLY differant from those in Western cultures. The work culture here in the US has no loyalty; people see each job as a stepping stone to a better job. In Japan people try to maintain businessrelationships and are loyal to the company that employs them. If Kojima had his way MGS4 would never appear on the 360. The playstation brand has done a lot for Kojima and his series so he'd like to keep his games on that system. However, the realities of rising development cost will probably make MGS4 appear on the 360 at one point or another.

As for the show, I didn't hear anything I disagreed with too much. It all seems spot on concerning my personal feelings on how things will play out. The 360 will NOT be getting the casual market from Nintendo. The Victoria's Secret analogy was perfect.

no they were in the red but since they fixed the rrod and with all the accessories they've sold they're actually making money now.
