[QUOTE="jlh47"][QUOTE="slick_gio"] [QUOTE="Taz-Bone"]I guess you could also say MGS4 is coming to the 360? Man those guys analyse things backwards.jlh47
You have to understand cultural backgrounds as well as economic incentives. If a 3rd partygame can be ported from the 360 to the PS3 (or vice versa) then IT WILL HAPPEN. This of course can easily ba applied to non japansese developers because they will follow the money.
Japanese developers/publishers are a differant story. The work relationships in Japan are VASTLY differant from those in Western cultures. The work culture here in the US has no loyalty; people see each job as a stepping stone to a better job. In Japan people try to maintain businessrelationships and are loyal to the company that employs them. If Kojima had his way MGS4 would never appear on the 360. The playstation brand has done a lot for Kojima and his series so he'd like to keep his games on that system. However, the realities of rising development cost will probably make MGS4 appear on the 360 at one point or another.
As for the show, I didn't hear anything I disagreed with too much. It all seems spot on concerning my personal feelings on how things will play out. The 360 will NOT be getting the casual market from Nintendo. The Victoria's Secret analogy was perfect.
what about nintendo? the wii console was made to bring in casuals... leaving the hardcore gamers in the dust with all the crappy games on that system that people buy anyway.... just to make money. see i can play devil's advocate too. :)
What about Nintendo? I fail to see how your comment in any way refutes what I just said concerning the loyalty of the Japanese work ethic and the stepping stone mentality here in the US. Despite that, I will respond to your comment.
Wii was developed to expand the gaming audience and bring in the casual market. This is true and because of this they have have made money like crazy. This does not refute anything I said.
You say Nintendo has "
the hardcore gamers in the dust with all the crappy games on that system that people buy anyway." I personally dislike the term "hardcore gamers". It was most likely something coined and made popular by the kiddies that see their purchase of M rated games as something that makes them cool, mature, and hardcore. I hate that phrase. I describe myself as an avid game player, but I do not own all the consoles/handhelds. My most recent console/handheld purchases include a GC, PS2, DS, and now the Wii (I have owned an NES, Genesis, GBC and GBA). You would probably describe me as a "hardcome gamer" so lets see what I own for the Wii, hmm?
Wii Sports (obviously)
CoD3
Wii Play
Trauma Center: Second Opinion
Twilight Princess
SMG
TC: New Blood
RE: UC
Manhunt 2
Zack & Wiki
RE4 (for the GC, which is why I don't have it for the Wii)
So tell me, how has Nintendo left me in the dust? I'd like to point out that I own around 9 GC games and I think 13 PS2 games and that was for their lifetime. I see myself buying a few more GC and PS2 games in the future (I have used GF for 14 games so no need to buy those), but just look at how many games I have been COMPELLED to buy for the Wii in its first year instead of simply using GF for them.
So yeah, there is no Devil's Advocate in your comment.
