Game with the best graphic on PC, vanilla and Moded (a serious thread)

I always wanted to make a fair discusession on which game has the best graphic on PC, then I realized that about people would bring mods into the discussion, so to concern their feeling, I clocked some hours in crysis, crysis2, metreo2033, the witcher 2 and GTAIV, with mods and without, now my verdict is in. (I will try to be as fair as possbile, you are more than weclome to object my opinion, screenshots are welcome but those better taken from your own PC as I did all with mine)

1. best vanilla graphic - crysis2 (DX11 + high res texture pack)

Vanilla Crysis 2 hands down is the most technically impressive game ever crafted on PC, before that it was metro 2033

note: if you think you clicked everything on ultra without a DX11 rig and OS and you think you are seeing crysis 2's full glory? no you are not, you are likely the one who think crysis1 looks "better" than crysis2. DX9 extreme setting looks decent, but with DX11's toning, it's a different game.

2. Best moded graphic - GTAIV (ENB 1.35)

Very tough to decide between GTAIV and crysis 2, but since crysis 2 being a very young game with only 2-3 mods, I'd give it to GTAIV, everyone knows the photorealism of ENB, but there're tons of impressive russian mobs looks just as good and could kill your best high end rig with ease.

I know alot ppl would say how much they think crysis 1 has the best moded graphic, and I'm sure pretty soon crysis1 fanboys will flood this thread and load with real lifesis screen shots, so I will do this before you, yeah, but real lifesis+extremely texture pack+ enviormental lighting pack takes more than couple mods to look like in your screenshot and even though there are just too many techncial shortcoming in cryengine2 when you look close up, in every which way, it's just looked far inferior compare to GTAIV and crysis2's mods.

3. Best artistical graphic – Crysis

Well, most gamers are city floks, and we can't resist plam trees on a beach, combined with aliens and korean military occupation. That's a perfect setting a FPS could ask for, and crisis 1 not only did jungle environment so well, but the interior, lighting shadow, and partical effect happened in fire fight is insane, for a game from 2007 it's way ahead of its time, even though it's far inferior to cyrsis 2 and metro at technical department, but the art ****made it looks more appealing than it supposed to.

Best Graphic overall winner- crysis 2

Cryengine 3 is simply an all around best graphic engine, it does absoluately everything and anything better on stuffs cryengine2 and unreal3 tried so hard to achieve, no matter is in photorealisic, medieval or extremely sci fi images, cryengine 3 excel in all.

Yes definitelly. Shogun 2 looks really good with the Directx 11 patch also.

No Witcher 2? Son I am disappoint. No DiRT 3, Shogun 2, or F1 2011 either. Unmodded, I'd say TW2 or Metro 2033 easily. Modded would definitely be Crysis. There are many artisicly good looking games too. I'm a fan of the SF4 style and I think it looks really damn good on PC. Trackmania 2 also looks really amazing. I'm personally a big fan of how RAGE looks...but no one else agrees :cry:

Now that BF3 is out though, it definitely has the definitive crown.

Oh, and Crysis 2 is ass-ugly and bland. Yeah, it's got all the technical specs behind it, but that doesn't give Crytek to right to make The Conduit 2 HD.

Vanilla is a term use to describe a game in it's unmodded state.

Going off of some of the pics i'm seeing of BF3 it is one of the new big daddies for graphics

Crysis 2 looks so..I don't know.I just hate it.

Crysis 1 looks way better.

Crysis blows Crysis 2 off the water. Metro 2033 is also better looking than C2.

I will always chime in these threads and say Just Cause 2. The game looks amazing and runs butter smooth. Hopefully we get a Just Cause 3 soon with full DX11.

BF3 looks absolutly fantastic and is the most technically advanced game on the PC. However they went for a more realistic approach rather than just throw tons foliage and crazy HDR settings at people to make it look better than it really is.

Don't understand the love for cryengine 3, every single picture I've seen at a decent resolution has that horrible blur to it, not as bad as the beta, but it's still there.

Anyways going to go with BF3, it's a shame that the singleplayer is supposedly terrible.

I'm a fan of Mirror's Edge's style

It is a tough call when mods are brought in. You should also look into Shattered Horizon. I really hope that game gets a sequel.

indeed and while ghost warrior 1 had"imitation" bullet drop. but not in fact true bullet drop.

Sorry everyone that I didn't put BF3 into this because I haven't played it, I did aware that it has potential to be the best looking vanilla PC game(technical wise) of all time, I already purchased the game through orgin but haven't got a chance to install it because all my current times are sank into dark souls. as soon as I got into BF3, I will edit my original post.

If you're looking for the best textures, Crysis is the easy win, but the best lighting maybe Metro or even BF3 (I haven't played it yet). But here is a comparison of Crysis 1 & 2 with all the mods available and on very high (and DX11). Crysis 1: Crysis 2: gamebreakerz__

I tried to make the comparsion fair but you aren't making it easier, if you want prove crysis1 has superior texture to crysis 2, then at least take screen shots from your own PC and compare the same object from the same view if you got a point to prove. and reason I ask to taken shots only on your own PC becaues that's the only way you can see them side by side (BTW, I recognize that crysis2 shots are Blackfire1, DX9 without no texture pack from my recall is even inferior to vanilla DX9 crysis2 is hardly fair)

Like I said the only thing crysis1 got on cyrsis2 is the setting where the nature feels more comfortate and easier to appeal than city, but texture wise, or any technical asset crysis2 clearly edge out crysis 1 by a LARGE MARGIN. there are details in crysis 2 that crysis1 and mods never able to process.

crysis 2 DX11 is more than enough to kill anything from moded crysis1 and cyrsis2 mods is an overkill.

Good. I'd like to see lots of comparison shots. I'd take them buy I can't run BF3 or Cysis on my laptop at anything above low.

Those are the best looking games overall, of course on PC.

For consoles its gotta be Uncharted3, Heavy Rain, Rage, Forza4 and Gears 3 for me personally.
