GAMER.tv gives DEVIL MAY CRY 4 a 6/10 !!!

i was just watching the episode last night.

they said

pros:

beautiful game

excellent fluid combat

neros moves a welcome change

engaging plot and story

cons:

easy bosses

too similar to previous dmc games

easy puzzles (they said some were stupid and frustrating)

they complained about some dissapearing platforms that appear at various levels

even though the game visuals gives you a sense of huge arenas like castles etc ,the actual places of combat are still narrow hallways and passageways.

they said theres a lot of time running up corridors without any thing happening

some levels have you playing as dante but ,you will immediatley miss neros devil hand move where you can pull enemies towards you.seems to be overused.

the game doesnt seem any better than the previous ones in terms of gameplay but the excellent plot and gorgeous visuals kept them going.

the reason i was shocked with this review is that, gamer tv is usually quite leniant.they werent allowed to say anything about the plot and didnt mention nay 360 /ps3 differences.

People are way too caught up in this "Next-Gen" mentality thinking the core gameplay of titles will change dramatically.

the reason i posted that is because someone gave me a link to their bioshock review a while ago, and it was on 5 scale.

Australian OXM gave it a 7/10

6/10 tells me that there is something wrong withthis game. some australian mag gave it 7/10 check out the DMC$ PS3 forums..

I was thinking this was a sure AAA game or atleaset high AA but now... something is obviously wrong with it..

gamer tv has been going for YEARS its broadcast on bravo in the UK

yes they used to mark out out of 5 but couple of months ago they changed it to out of 10.

I'm waiting for someone to jump in and yell DMC 3.5, just like haters did with Halo 2.5.

I am currently babysitting my brothers PS3 while he's on a work term. I downloaded the DMC4 demo and I was honestly underwhelmed. I agree with most of GamerTVs points, even though I have no idea who they are. DMC4 has mind blowing graphics and is fast and furious fun, but ultimately it feels exactly like every other DMC game to me. I still plan on renting it and trying it out before my brother gets back and steals his PS3 back, but I don't have too high hopes.

Poor level design isn't hardcore.

Anyway I wasn't too fond of the demo but it was ok. Unless the reviews say something drastic has changed from DMC3 I'll prob just replay that and leave 4.

i watched that and i coudnt find the reason they gave it a 6..the review sounded like and it played (the demo) like a solid 8.

thank god some 1 else on this site watches it.why is it almost no1 has heard of it.i might not relyu on it for reviews but they give good long previews etc .since my net suks and im tired of getting low res previews gamertv is all i got.

I think this is because that this is an American site and GamerTv is a UK show so I don't think its shown in America. Hmm, I guess they get things like X-play though

I think that they should show it in America as the games they review, they review it very early (they reviewed Mass effect and Burnout Paradise way before Gamespot) and I think people would enjoy it/
