On the other hand, whichever console gets most of the PC's games eventually is a factor.

Woah casey I thought we can't use that term? I mean I said there should be something said about console exclusivity when we had a discussion about gears going to PC. You said that there is no such thing, and that if it is on the PC as well it is no longer exclusive. Though I said in return that a PC is not a console(just like an arcade based system is not as well) and you stated that you can't avoid the PC being a gaming system. Which I didn't but I stated that Gears should be considered a console exclusive as well because you can only get it on the 360 as far as consoles go. Please clearify.

I think the whole PC issue is stupid and moot. It's like saying a game isn't exclusive because it will be on the DS. They are two totally different products. People aren't going to stores and being torn between buying a 360 or PC. It doesn't happen any more than people are going to be torn between a console and a DS if they share a game or two.

However, I disagree that a game being 6 months exclusive is considered 'exclusive'. I don't think it is. Why? Because people generally buy a console based on exclusive titles. People who want Halo are going to buy a 360. People who want Metal Gear are goign to buy a PS3. People who want Metroid will buy the Wii. Nobody bases their console buying decision based on ports and multi-plats.

If somebody goes to the store wanting a PS3, for example, but they really really want Bioshock it is a tough choice to make. However, if they were to find out that bioshock was coming to PS3 in 6 months, they aren't going to think twice about following their original plan. Why should they? So in the mind of the consumer, a 6 month exclusive might as well be multiplat from day one; the consumer thinks of it no differently.

Halo3 is gonna be on Pc ..... so does that mean its a multiplat too ....???????

in about 3 years just like Halo 1 and Halo 2. The thing is GeoW is releasing only 1 year, which isn't a lot. There are still a LOT of people who haven't bought a 360 and will see that the title is on the pc. This may change their opinion before buying one.

(honestly I'm still trying to find a reason for a 360, but it only has 9 great exclusive titles compared to 46 on the pc...)

I'm a PC gamer and I totally agree. Gears of War and Halo 2 were both designed for the 360. They then later on made it on PC, but have you played it on a PC? I got Halo 2 for PC just cause. It totally sux, its hardly a PC game at all. You can't change your contols (like every other PC game in the world) and the way they set it up to use a mouse instead of a joystick totally blows. I liked playing GoW on my friends 360, but when it comes out for the PC, no thanx. Just like when they make C&C3 for the 360. HAHAHA! I would love to see a 360 pro play against a PC gamer at that game.

Of course I have considered that. The TC made a blanket statement about xbox fans, and I made a blanket response. Based not only on my opinion, but every other Xbox owner I know (I know 1 pc gamer. He is a friend, and tried to get the rest of our crew on board with him. There was ZERO interest).

Why is it all of a sudden 360 owners are crying foul about this exclusive issue?

- When Doom3 came to the X-Box over 6 months after it came to the PC, it was accepted that it was not exclusive anymore.

- WhenHL2 came to the X-Box about a year after it came to the PC, it was accepted that it was not exclusive anymore.

- When RE4 came to the PS2 over 6 months after it came to the GC, it was accepted that it was not exclusive anymore.

If PC or GC gamers then had made the suggestion you are making, every X-Box and PS2 owner would have rediculed them and called them sore losers.

Also Gears is coming to PC a year(a day under a year if you want to be precise) after the 360 release, so I dont know where you are getting 2 years from? That is quicker that the time it took HL2 to come to the X-Box.

Also, if we were to accept your idea and gears was exclusive to the 360, then that would mean that it was also exclusive to the PC.

That would mean that RE4 was exclusive to the Wii, Sigma was exclusive to the PS3 and so would Oblivion not to mention Rainbow Six Vegas.

Yep that is why none of the launch titles for 360 are available in stores anymore because everyone who wanted to play them rushed out and bought the system and the games immediately. Same reason you can no longer by Spiderman on DVD.

Also, PS3 owners always say they can buy it on PC. Why would you want to spend $600-$1000 on a computer gaming rig when you can play it on the 360 which is easier to use? Just Jealouslyhousy2008

There's a HUGE difference between timed-exclusive and exclusive. Like it or not, Gears of War is a timed-exclusive title. We've seen movies and plenty of pictures of the game running on the PC for us to know that it most certainly is arriving on the PC. Gears of War is NO LONGER a game in which one could say that the ONLY way you'll be able to play it is by owning a 360. You will be able to play this game as long as you own a 360 or a PC and that's a fact.

I mean hey man I love gears too, and I wish that it was a 360 exclusive too. Unfortunately it is not. It is on the PC as well which makes its non-exclusive. If you can get the same game on another system regardless if it is PC or not it is not exclusives.

Gears is exclusive until it is released on the PC. It is STILL exclusive at this point in time.
