FFIII(VI) on SNES had me in tears with the ghost train. On a more recent note Super Paper Mario got me a little misty.
Just goes to show that you don't need the biggest and most powerful to get an involving experience from a game.

No game has or ever will make me cry, if a little girl can play a game and not cry then why can't you?. Grow up and stop being a baby.Bullets4Brains
Macho, macho man! i want to be, a macho man!(It syncs with my MC!)

Well, KH1 and 2 almost got me to cry. I relate with the story in some points so I wouldn't be surprised if I had cried (or still will when I play it again). I also felt sad a lot of times during the two games.
Alright, it's time to shed our manliness for a while and show our soft spot...
What games, if any, have ever made you cry? Don't lie... video games are powerful things. If a video game is powerful enough to make you cry (for a good reason ;)) Then it has to be awesome.
I cried at the end of OoT just because it was over. I also cried at the end of Kindom Hearts... it was kinda sad, and I really liked the music that went with it.

Are u a girl??!!Â
End of OOT, just because the whole experience was finally over. That game was truly magical.
Oh and Ico was also really well done, but not particularly tear inducing. They should make a sequel to that game where you have to escape from the woods.nadirb1
escape?
why wouldn't they just stay there and live off of the woodland creatures?
No game has ever made me shed a tear but Shadow of the colossus did give me an emotional feeling, just not a crying one.Swift_Boss_A

Same here. I never have been reduced to tears by a game, lol, but I always ride the emotional rollercoaster all the way through. Whether it is a game that takes you on a trip of going back and forth from complete frustration to complete satisfaction like Ninja Gaiden and God of War. Or yes, a game like SotC that pretty much makes you feel every kind of emotion within the tragic/epic spectrum, from the peacefulness and serenity of a waterfall, or the sense of adventure and excitement you get when you are climbing one of the Colossus'. Or the sadness and shock of the ending when you find out the price that you had to pay, and what you were actually doing throughout the game in order to ressurect your girl.
So yeah, it is more just an emotional rollercoaster of immersion for me in games, even sadness, but I have never cried over a video game.

Crying over a game? Are you are girly-man?
FFVII. no not the aeries scene but the bit where red finds that his dad was a hero....gets me every time for some reason.
FFVIII. because it was such a terrible let down.
Marble madness. that caused crygin due to sheer fury. flippin marble....dam acid..DAAAAAAA!!!!
Rome total war. u know the way sarumans sidekick (forget his name) sheds a tear when he sees 10,000 urukai on the field. i did that when i played a really big fight in R:TW. seeing 1000s of units kicking the snot out of 1000s of enemies....its a beautiful sight :D.Â
The end of FF9 pulled a few heart strings. But, as I am a man, I punched the wall a few times and then the cat instead of crying.
No animals were harmed in the creation of this post.
Â
I'll admit a few tears fell at the end of FFX, when

Hahahaha! When will they ever make a proper shining force game again? Still my favorite Strategy RPG of all time. Fire emblem is good, but it's no Shining Force.
Or how about a Dark Wizard remake or sequel? That would kick ass too.
BTW I like your Snatcher avatar!
never cried during a game. nothing is that imerssive to me yet. I have cried during a movie (Hardball) when de de died
but who knows some might start crying (hopefully not me ) when heavy rain comes out seeing as how they are going for realismÂ

Are you afraid of crying or something? Its a game , just like a movie the story it tells can make you cry.
Lot of games have touching moments. The one that sticks to my mind at this point was the pair of 180 degree turn around of emotion near the end of Super Metriod.Â
The first being the abstract horror of walking through a room with hard to kill monsters that were turned to dust, then attacked by a Metroid the size of a house. That quickly changed as the angry Metroid realized it was attacking its "mom" and then it was a bit of sadness when it was being all innocent again from when you first see the small thing.Â
Course then you have it come later to save your life, thinking that perhaps the game was over and it was a bit of poetic justice that Mother Brain is killed off by the creature she was trying to control. Only to see the Metroid killed off protecting you. Turned a rather heart warming moment into one of vengence, then again into panic as the whole world is set to blow up... again.
Kinda strange that a game that is almost compleately devoid of any in-depth storyline can involke such a range of emotion.
i dont play enought "hardcore" games to make me cry. movies used to make me cry when i was a little kid, the sad parts of disney movies. and Of Mice and Men ALMOST made me cry. man, now that is a good and sad ending.
edit: well i wouldn't exactly say cry. but i had tears in my eyes. or half tears. whatever, close enough right?Â
Awww, let's all just get naked, jump in a hot tub together and express our feelings over a cup of tea, lol.
Sorry, I just could'nt resist.
Yes. I did cry a little at the end of this game. Not only because of the time I spent on it but the ending was sad too.

So much for this thread...
I'm not ashamed of crying at a video game.Â

Well, technically Dragon Force I & II are the spiritual sequels to Dark Wizard.
But yes, I would rather have a remake under the SEGA AGES label, hell, they remade Gain Ground, they should remake Dark Wizard.
And thanks. :)Â
