Games that Need to take a brake and make return after 5 years

I would say Tony Hawk Pro Skater series

It use to be one of the best game.. but it's the same old thing from series to series

As much as I love Halo, it could use a long break.

I disagree about the person that said Mario maybe the platformer needs a break because they just released a 3D Platformer that is great and a 2D Platformer that is good last year. So they can take a break with the platformers until next gen.

oh really? I just hope it feels really new and they put alot of work in. The stand alone expansions were decent but just felt like new areas to the original

Call of Duty, Pokemon, Mario, Assassin's Creed and Star Wars.

Halo (as much as I love it) could use a breather, at least gameswise. I don't mind the expanded universe stuff, though.

Call of Duty needs a serious overhaul as well as do ANY Star Wars games not named KOTOR III.

Pokemon needs to reinvent itself.

Ratchet needs a break.

Kojima just needs to leave MGS alone and f****** do something else.

Guitar Hero and Tony Hawk just need be taken out behind the shed.

F3AR (lame title) series. Its pretty much common knowledge that its not going to be half as good as the 1st.Sp4rtan_3

yeh the first was a fun and intense shooter. Now FEAR 2 and 3 seem like mediocre run of the mill games that no one is really excited about :?

But seriously Halo could take a nice break, and resident evil could have a nice little break as well. Both are great franchises but I was underwhelmed by reach and RE5.

I would say any popular game produced by Activision and that means Tony Hawk, Guitar Hero and COD because they don't know how to control these franchises that well. Sonic just got a good game and I thinkSega is going to be producing more good sonic games in the future

I read a lot of the same games over and over here, obviously there arent THAT many franchises that are big enough where they make enough games that we are sick of them - but that are big enough we think will be able to come back in five years.

Some like Tony Hawk, well in 5 years i dont think he will be big enough to return really will he? Has he done much as a celebraty lately? I think by then it will just be some new guy or a hover board game or something. Or people say pokemon, and i agree the handheld games need to change up more or wait a bit (even though they still sell a ton), but what about a Pokemon game on the Wii? Like a real one (not Pokepark haha). That could be neat. So i dont know, i cant think of many that I want to not see for 5 years and hope they come back. But i do think there are a lot that either just need to stop or totally reinvent themselves (Fable, Star Wars games, etc). I dont want them to just put a 4 or 5 on a game box and expect me to keep buying it you know? But if you somehow made a good Star Wars game, i would be on board still :) Battlefront 3 maybe?

Final Fantasy and the whole shooter genre. Still waiting for that Parasite Eve Square....
