Since the old version of this topic got locked off the Wii forums for some reason, here's the new one. I'll start:

There's a lot of good games out there that would be excellent for the Wii (For instance Uncharted: Drakes Fortune, Bioshock, Counter Strike, Mercernaries: Playground of Destruction, etc.) What do you guys think?

So, basically anything that can't be on the Wii, should be. Me thinks Wii only owners might want to think about picking up one of the other consoles...and vice versa.

while many of those games would be great, ther are reasons why i doubt they will appear.

1) Developers like to get awarded with feats in graphics and physics, but with the wii that's very ahrd to pull off.

2) The average buyer for the wii won't buy bioshock, thye'll buy a bunch of rip off ports and movie based games.

1.5million wii owners bought Metroid Prime 3, why wouldn't they be interested in another atmospheric game like bioshock?

I personally feel that "Condemned Criminal Origins" would have been a great fit for the "Wii" control scheme. I enjoyed that game too.

None of those games belong on the wii. But if any of the developers that made those games would like to make NEW EXCLUSIVE games for the wii, then by all means please do.

Are we including Virtual Console? If so, a crapload of "wasn't released in regions X and Y, but was in Z" or any variation of that. Games like Final Fantasy V, Terranigma, Fire Emblem: Seisen no Keifu, Chrono Trigger (Europe never got it, to my knowledge).

I am surprised that out of all those party/family games made for the Wii, no one has thought to make a Jig-saw puzzle game for the Wii.

Other consoles are too expensive. I mean, i'd buy a PS3 if it wasn't FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS. Also, I din't say "every game that isn't on the wii, should be; I said that there were a lot of good games out there that would fit right in on the Wii console, Because yes, there are games out there *cough*GTA*cough* that WOULD be crossing the line.

The games you listed could technically be done on the Wii, but it would never look very good, see for example Far Cry. They crammed it on the Wii, and look what it came out like. The Wii needs to stick with the types of games it has been staying with. Owners should understand they are not going to see games like Bioshock and should be more than happy with titles like Mario Galaxy, Metroid Prime 3 and Zack & Wiki.

You'd be surprised how many owners would like to play GTA on their console. Problem is, it just can't pull it off very well. If you want to play Bioshock and the like, then pick up a 360 since the PS3 is out of your price range. Simple as that.

I know, It's just that I plsyed a demo for Uncharted: Drakes Fortune, and I was hoping they would put it out on a console OTHER than the PS3, plus, ash10692 and I agree that GTA would be too... out of line for the wii. But then I guess that means Bioshock is out of the question as well...

Unless they're really suited to the Wii, no: and even then they'd have to be remade from the ground up.

Counter-strike doesn't work on consoles so well, and the rest of the games would be mind-boggingly difficult to port to a very underpowered system.

depends on the game, and if it would work with the wii

like i'm happy that they ported okami .. the wiimote was perfect for the gameplay (though the devs got a bit lazy by doing a direct port)

The one and only PS3/360 games I wish I could play on my Wii is Civilization: Revolution. Hopefully, they end up doing a Wii version, as it was originally planned.

Fry Cry for the Wii is a joke and it's not because the Wii can't handle far cry. It's because it's a game Ubisoft spent about a month on, taking a scraped PS2 version of the game and rushing it to the Wii just to have something to sell.

Bioshock and Counterstrike. After seeing the new screen shots of The Conduit I'm confident that the Wii can deliver better graphics than what we've seen thus far. Sure Bioshock might be downgraded A BIT but who cares, the Wii can still make it look good and with the motion controls theres a winning combo.

The Wii has a completely different menu of games and, for the most part, I like it that way; it gets quirky and inventive titles that wouldnt see the light of day on the other two consoles. Not that the other two dont get inventive games, of course, theyre just different.

Some games are just suited to the machine; Okami and De Blob are two examples of games that really needed to be on the Wii, and are :)

So, if I could, I would have (some ports, some remade):

Portal, Katamari, Starcraft, Viva Pinata, Overlord, Pokemon Red / Blue, Monkey Island... that kind of stuff.

May I ask why? Kameo kind of does, but the two fighting games just dont lend themself well to the Wii's control scheme, unfortunately. Those games would be all waggle and no skill. Other than Brawl, there hasnt been a decent fighting game that uses the Wiimote well (and Brawl barely even uses its capabilities). And Wii owners have to hang their hopes on Castlevania Judgement.

If they did that with Sin & Punishment, they can do that with other games too (I hope so).

They don't need to be as high in definition. Besides, the average wi buyer buys rip off ports and movie based games because thats all they can get these days. I say we Wii owners deserve something more. Also The_Goat_Azz, you needs to work on your spelling. It's like a six year-olds.

I have to agree with you. After all, the graphics for SSBB were GREAT, so graphics is not an excuse.
