Games that still look good (56k run powerful internet gonna eat ya

It was eye candy when it came out. Best art design on the ps2. Cell-shaded is so godly. I don't understand why there hasn't been one cell-shaded game on xbox 360/ps3.

• Both Naruto games
• DBZ
• The Simpsons Game

are all cel-shaded :P

I would also mention the Prince of Persia, Valkyria Chronicles and Street Fighter IV, but I'm not sure if they count

Real-time graphics really are overrated, aren't they? ;)

In all seriousness though, the character models seen in the tutorials on Shenmue's Passport disc still look good compared to many character models seen today. The obvious reason being that the head, shoulders and background were the only things being rendered with nothing else going on on screen. The animations obviously look crap by today's standards, but still, not bad for something running on a Dreamcast.

Yes, the artists that work for Kojima are amazing, even with a fairly low polygon budget they can still make some great stuff.

That's the Arcade version.

I'd have to say Far Cry, Doom III, and Half-Life 2 on the PC still look good for 5-6 year-old games.

Gamecube's paper mario... Couldn't believe it was a Gamecube game when my son played it yesterday.

I'd say even better than some of this gen.

I agree with a lot of these however, I don't know as to whether I would call HL2 a last-gen game. Sure it appeared on xbox but Orange Box got a ps3/360 release and when HL2 was released it was a pc graphics king and the consoles were outdate then. I would venture to call HL2 and Doom3 the first nextgen games

Shenmue II is truly beautiful as well, especially considering the hardware limitations!
