Silent Hill Shattered Memories.

Seriously. Play it. You will never see it coming. And it makes you look at the game in a totally different way.

Also, No More Heroes. Awesome twist/ message.

Deus Ex HR was dissapointing a bit aswell

For good endings, I really liked RDR's and Halo Reach

Really? You got scared by that game? I love it, and it's very atmospheric, but, honestly, I didn't tihnk it was scary.

BTW, try again. The ending is TOTALLY worth it. Plus any of the songs that play during the credits are AMAZING.

Mass Effect 1 had a great ending.

Same with Dragon Age: Origins. Bastion had a great ending. Tales of Vesperia and Eternal Sonata both had great endings. Final Fantasy XIII also had a great ending but then they decided to release XIII-2 *facepalm*

The Witcher had a great ending. The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess had a great ending. Okami (if we count the Wii port) had a great ending. And this might just be me, but I also really loved Half-Life 2 Episode 2's ending.

I rarely complete games anymore.

Tales of Vesperia, ME 1 & 2 are probably the only memorable endings I've witnessed this gen.

Ah right, The Witcher had a great ending too. That was how you properly make an "ending that is open to interpretation", Bioware.

Really?... The only time you're ver in danger is in the Nightmares... sure, there are alot of ambient effects that are creepy, and it's very dark, but still... idk, I still love the game.

I didn't find it scary but 'last gen graphics' doesn't make the game un-scary. IMO most of the blockbuster horror games this gen don't utilize atmosphere as good as the older games.

It's all arbitrary. What do last gen graphics have to do with anything? Silent Hill 1 is still scary as sh*t!

If one isn't used to playing horror games or games that have an emphasis on atmosphere and tension, then yeah someone can find it scary. It made me jump a few times but it was horror like Amnesia.

In it's defense, it's one of the better looking games on the Wii.

Nah, The Witcher had a great ending. Brought the story to a conclusion nicely but still set up the events of the sequel. I hear the sequel just kind of drops off for the ending, but The Witcher was great. The ending was very satisfying and showed a lot of depth within the characters, their relationships with one another. I thought it was a great twist that the leader of the Order of the Rose was Alvin. It makes sense, but it isn't spelled out for you. Nothing in that game really is.

Portal 2, Mass Effect 2, maybe Bully, War for Cybertron, and Batman: Arkham Asylum.

From games that I haven't played but seen the ending (I know, I know, really stupid but I might as well though given how I'll never play them) I found Fallout 3 to have an interesting way of doing endings what with three different endings based on choices. Could have a good ending, an evil ending, or even a neutral ending. Dead Space 2 had one hell of an ending. God of War 3 was interesting...what happened and what happens next kind of stuff. The Darkness was quite astonishing really and quite memorable on behalf of Starbreeze. Oh and Black Ops as well.

These are just recent endings that I've seen though...if I see another one that was amazing and what not I'll dully note them for future reference.

I haven't seen Mass Effect 1's ending and I think it might be a game for future purchase so I'm holding out on that. I did see the scene of Shepard and Soverign and I will agree....that was really amazing.

I hope so...the Harbinger getting released from control, the destruction of the reapers for a time being, the camera panning over a dead comrade, a funeral for the ones who had fallen...if you're right that Mass Effect 1 has a better ending then I cannot WAIT to see it. :)

Oh... no one died on me Mass Effect 2 so there were no funerals in mine. Mass Effect 1's is great. I played as a Paragon and freaking loved every moment of it, right down to the dramatic choices, to the climactic final battle and the set-up that more is to come. ME2 didn't do that for me. The ending itself was mroe of a cutscene rather than a gameplay section. Interactivity > Passively watching for me.

Ah, well...I lost Legion, Miranda, and Talia on my first play through and so I had to watch a scene of Shepard mourning over the three. Second one was better because I only lost one and it was Jack who I never cared for. A b!tch one second then sobbing the next....where have I seen THAT before? I guess I would agree, interactivity is better than just watching a movie but during the final battle (no matter how bad it was) it was quite hectic and chaotic and so I was perfectly fine with seeing everything unfold before my eyes as I laid back smiling and (IMO) realized that I had played one hell of a fine game. Anyways, Mass Effect 2 is a really, really great game, imo, and I can't wait to get some more Mass Effect. Just....leave three out of the equation, shall we?

I haven't played 3. I don't intend to. I didn't like 2 that much so 3 doesn't interest me. I might get it when it's around $10 sometime, but right now I really don't care.

Oh... no one died on me Mass Effect 2 so there were no funerals in mine.

NeonNinja

The whole DLC business and this shotty ending thing is making me want to protest and boycott EA and not buy any of their games from 2011 all the way to the end of their time. I'll still buy some of their games from pre 2011 like 2010 and so on and so forth and even then I'm not really in the mood for much. Maybe a Sims 3 expansion here, Mass Effect there, something something dark side here...you know. Stuff that interests me and right now they don't have much that does...

I think Borderlands 1 had the best finale of any game this generation. ;)
