Shooting in Uncharted series are good, not on par with GEOW series but still good.. Having said that, ND can do a few more tweaks/improvements to the shooting mechanics should they work on UC4..
I always wanted to make a comment about how terrible UC2 shooting was, but I thought maybe I was imagining things. Seriously, the shooting mechanics in UC2 were TERRIBLE and I'm sure its no different in UC3.
There is something to be said about excellent presentation, but we are playing a video game and when the gameplay is in my mind so heavily flawed I don't understand how that can earn a perfect score. So, yes I agree with the sentiment of the original post.

I cant agree at all. I find the shooter very well done.

[QUOTE="ccagracing"]I agree with the topic creator and understand the point he is trying to make. I have just finished Uncharted 3 and must say I was a little disapointed with the story and as said the actual gun play wasnt anything more than average. The whole introduction to the Desert section that you just walk through, doing nothing before you reach the abandoned outpost/village was just boring and really slowed the game down. This was nothing more than padding a game out or perhaps they didnt have time to finish that section.Having good characters in games doesnt hurt but when it becomes more interesting than the actual playing of the games or you start to watch the game as opposed to playing it, thenyou have a problem. Now I dont think Uncharted falls into this category, however for the next game I would like them to tighten up the gameplay as I suffered many fustrating and cheap deaths, reduce the amount of quicktime events and seriously overhaul the hand to hand combat.MuayThaiFTWCase in point. Exactly what I was talking about with my post above And you'll notice how he talks about a part that was commonly shown in gameplay videos (before it was relesead) A lot of people watch gameplay videos and then speak like they have played the game. Anyway, Some random thoughts. I though the desert part was incredible. Not every second of the game needed action. You need a good pace. there was lots of action though and when it came it came hard action packed with awesome sauce. I really dug the pacing of the game. Gameplay was hell a fun too. And at no point did I ever feel like I was sitting there un-involved in the experience or not engaged and feeling like i was "only watching cut scenes and pressing QTE's" lol the gross exaggerations of the few on the internet. Its clear its b.s or that its said just to spite cows. So back to topic, I was totally engrossed in the experience from the first minute of the game until the last seconds of the game. People need to take a logical look at things. Because Uncharted scores universally so very highly that doesn't mean that now every cinematic game under the sun will be scored highly for having cinematics. Uncharted was praised highly because it did it(cinematic gaming, and what it set out to do) so damn near perfectly and struck a good balance of pacing, cinematics, and gameplay ...and the gameplay that was there, was solid enough. Its gameplay didnt only consist of shooting you know...and even then, its gun play is not the broken mess its made out to be on the internet lol When a game does things right it deserves to be praised, which is the case with Uncharted doing cinematic gaming right and having good gameplay Cinematic gaming is not a disease. Cinematic games that do it poorly and lacking the gameplay of Uncharted will receive criticisms, and as gamers we should be happy that there are so many different types of games to play. The hysteria shown by dark link, his cheer leaders, and people like the guy I quoted is ridiclous. Just calm down, think, relax, and actually enjoy the hobby you spend hours on the internet ******* about. If you don't like a type of game don't buy it. Simple as that
I own all three Uncharted games, here is a picture to keep you happy. I have valid made points in my post and just because you dont like them; means I do not own the game! They built great tension with the Airplane crashing, then we are slowed to pointless walking through a desert in little more than a glorified cutscene. I am notgoing to mention how this desert part is unrealistic as its just a game, however this first desert section should have been a cutscene and then get me back into the gameplay and keep the momentum going, after all he is a minimum of two days behind the convoy before the plane crashes and surely speed is off the essence.
I want more puzzles in the game, more platforming, some of the chase sequences are great. How good could Uncharted 3 be if it opened up the gameplay more to allow for exploring or finding your own path, creating individual battles when needed, yes keep some of the scripted action sequences as they are excellent but lets make them relevant to the story. Look at the cinematic MGS4, cutscenes that are taking 30+ minutesto watch and then happen after only a few minutes of gameplay, this is the way I dont want games to go.I want to play the game and as said if you get to a point with a game where your characters are more interesting than the gameplay, you are in trouble. Uncharted is "not" at this point but I can see how some may find the cheap deaths from falls fustrating. I do not think Uncharted 3 is bad, far from it but it is inferior to Uncharted 2 and I honestly think part of that desert sequence is missing.
Well, it seems the "Hey, that's just like, your opinion, man" brigade is out in full force today. Why bother having a discussion when you can just spit that line out over and over and over? No wonder System Wars is so boring now.

I fully agree with the TC.
It will be great when we don't have to go through all the trouble actually "playing" our games.I could definitely use a spare hand for beer or snack with one hand occasionally pushing a button here and there when needed. And I hope they remove the "game over" function from our movies / games too, because in movies the hero never dies.
Games are becoming more and more like movies and crappy movies at that. I think the future of gaming should improve the interaction but we seem to go the wrong way. With all the extra power from new hardware being put to use at creating cinematics and linear one way games. This is a load of crap if you ask me.
The UC games represent what I don't want to see happening to gaming. If those games are what the future holds I will switch to reading books or watching movies (good movies).

No UC represents another side of the gaming world and im pretty sure that side is never going away. Sorta like how your mario type games are never going away. I dont know why they cant live side by side. Why must we try to pit them against each other in a death battle so there can be only one.
"There can be only one".

Highlander reference for the win.:DI honestly hope that the Wii U is successful enough that Nintendo's styIe of game making becomes industry wide again. I've had enough of these interactive movies, I want games, God damn it.charizard1605Because only nintendo can make games without cinmatics. Didn't Atari Publish The Witcher 2?

Because the answer of the question ""Will you choose Zelda SS as it is now for wii or Zelda SS PC version with exactly same level design characters story etc but with x100 better graphics and cutscenes/cinematics etc..."" is pretty obvious and makes your thread instant boring. ( was an example , wii fans dont go defensive mode ).
Cinematics are there to keep story goin ( like oldschool wall of texts do the same thing ) , bring hype , introduce a boss or 2 , bring emotions in front etc etc... You dont like it?Fine.... But if you want to convince us to not like cinematics or you want your opinion have some value...try harder. Im out. Peace
It's not all games that prioritize the movie like feel. The MGS games have been doing it since MGS 1, and the Uncharted series has taken it even further by making it more playable during scenes that would have been a cutscene in the old days.
We have to remember that games like this will improve alot in the future, and the fact that the biggest flaw is the shooting is quite impressive.

But seriously, get that sh*t fixed.
Based on the zelda review reaction, if sheep weren't all 12 and thus lack the ability, they would have already done it.Cows would burn everything to ground if their most hyped exclusive wasn't praised by reviewers.

well this whole thing is opinoin based. Its not factual. Its ether people agree with you or not.finalfantasy94There are two kinds of opinions. 1) The "well-reasoned" opinion: Based on something measurable or verifiable and reasonable enough to respect. 2) The "wrong" opinion: Something someone resorts to when they know they are wrong, but want to save face by not admitting it. One agrees/disagrees with the first type. The second type is just something that should be collectively laughed at.
