ME 2 definetely. Too short an ending with a very unimaginative boss fight - wish they'd make you less reliant on cover.

God of War 3 - not a bad boss, but compared to Poseidon and Cronos it's a joke, and by far the most disappointing finalboss fight ever, in any gamefor me

Gears of War 2, Assassins Creed 1 and 2, Prince of Persia SoT, KZ2, Resistance 2.......

There should a be a spoilers alert in the title.
I, personally found the final boss battle in Assassin's Creed II to be underwhelming and it could have been done so much better.
The whole fight the pope would have been cooler if his guards were coming in as well when we fought and if he didn't die after like 5 punches
MGS4 - suddenly turned into a punch out bargain bin fighter. Liquid Boss fight should've been more epic than that after all the chapter buildups. Or perhaps it was too hard to top REX vs Ray the previous chapter? God of War 3 - Zeus first fight was like mortal kombat/megaman sidescroller after the whole game was frickin 3D after all this time. 2nd to final phases were boring and repetitive rehashes from GOW2. At least the GOW1 boss fights VS Ares were unique and needed proper timing/response as opposed to mindless button mashing. Killzone 2 - Kind of annoying and cheap teleporting final boss, that's it?

I liked the Assassins Creed 2 final boss:P I had a fun time just picking him up and throwing him.

I also didn't find anything wrong with U2's boss fight unlike most people. I didn't really expect a lot though, so that is probably why.

Well some game that come to mind

GOW 3, The final Boss was expected, and I am not a fan of the boss fights split up into pieces

MGSIV, didn't find anything fun or epic about the ending.

SMG 2, Bowser was the worst boss in SMG2 (Sorry if I spoiled that Bowser was the final boss :o who woulda known) I liked the SMG fights better.

MP1/MP3, Worst Boss fights in both games.

Mass Effect 2. Mostly because it just didn't need a boss fight. It completely ruined the immersion.

Lost Planet 1.

Take finalé took a huge dump on the whole game that was pretty good (IMO). Cheap ZOE clone made poorly.

Uncharted 2 was amazing but the last boss was underwhelming.

Mass Effect 2 but that's manily because of the very limited customization in there. Without DLC, you're basically choosing between a grand total of two weapons of each type, except the heavies. RPG? May aswell call it an adventure shooter because that's what it is... A shooter with dialogue trees. /OT.

the other was possessed by the ghost of his transplanted handfadersdream

you either: A. Did not play the game. B. Did not pay attention. (This was explained in the ending) my vote is Gears 2. Even if you don't count the Brumak, Skorge was god awful. Mash B, dodge tickers and poison, repeat 3 times then on rails sequence. And he dies by falling. Don't sue me for not saying spoilers because if you had any interest in either two games, you should've played them by now.

are we really debating this? I don't feel like getting into the post hypnotic suggestion crap... would covering that crap make it seem any better? The fact that the game switches all mechanics and turns into a fighting game is my point. it wasn't epic.

You are one of the very few people I have witnessed who didn't like the final fight. Even people who were overall dissapointed with MGS4, thought the last boss fight was great.

I thought the final boss battles in Alan Wake and Batman could have been better. Games were still great though despite the lackluster endings.

yokofox33

thats what I thought too. Alan Wake's last boss should have been an actual object or person. AA...yeah that was just a bad last boss. It should been against Joker not powered up by Venom. It would have been a creative fight since Joker isn't physically strong.

Borderlands. Really terrible ending. Was really disappoiting and far too easy.

Gears 2. I'm not even sure you can call that a boss...

Batman: AA. Best game this gen by a long way, just a really underwhelming end boss fight. And some other boss fights were also disappointing like with Killer Croc. could have been so much more.

Street Fighter 4: Seth was way too cheap and frustrating.

By far, the worst and I mean WORST in history goes to Fable II. Beyond that, there's Uncharted, Condemned and Gears 2.

I thought the condemned boss battle was decent, not the best by any means, but it wasn't bad.

Yeah, it's not like they were trying to make a hugely strategic boss fight. It was more about the atmosphere as you try to finish him off (which was pretty insane imo).

Yeah, as incredible as Uncharted 1 and 2 are, I felt they could have done better.

*Uncharted 1 SPOILER* It's not even the fact that it was a QTE fest. The ending basically fell into a borderline-JRPG cliche and he was just a panzy on the boat anyway.

Eternal Sonata (Arguably more random than FFIX's end boss)

Dead Space (WAY too easy)

Mass Effect 1 (Found it annoying trying to shoot saren while he's hopping all over the place)

How so? Because he wasn't as "epic" as the others? The final boss was hard as all hell, and that's what a final boss SHOULD be like. Who cares if he aint as big as the empire state building?

Mass Effect 2. I would have preferred that you didn't have any boss fight whatsoever in the game, but...
The human/reaper larva wasn't only lame, but it was a blatant Terminator ripoff.
Assassin's Creed II - That last boss was so easy, just spam the grapple attack and stomp the hell out of him and you've won.

Demon's Souls - The Wannabe Allant boss was by far the easiest boss in the game, and wasn't hard in the slightest.

Mass Effect 2 - The last boss reminded me of a giant terminator, I just wish it had been something else.

Zelda Twilight Princess: To easy use backslice or Mortal Draw or just wait for your chance to attack.

Uncharted 2: Boring really more than anything

Batman Arkham Asylum: This boss was a huge letdown because you don't even fight him.

SPOILERS

MGS4- all the pacing of the game changed in the last 30 min of gameplay (yes, i know that's about five hours of the game... ha ha), and then that stupid mike tyson's punchout thing on top of the boat that in no way used any of the mechanics from the rest of the game.

Killzone 2- the end boss was too different from the battles throughout the rest of the game. maybe if the fight wasn't so long range through most of it and you could see damage or if there was more personality in the characters it would have more impact but it just seemed to be so generic of old arcade games. might as well have been contra or rush'n attack. wait for pattern to emerge... attack... attack... boss regroups... wash rinse repeat.

p.s. i liked killzone 2, i did not like MGS4.

fadersdream

Did you play the other Metal Gear Solids? It's sort of a tradition and it featured several references to the fist fights from the other MGS games.

The second part of the final boss in Metroid Prime was a joke. Its two attacks were severely underpowered easy to dodge.

I don't get the hate for MP3's final boss. At least that one was challenging.

Oh God, there's so many...

 • Uncharted: Drake's Fortune
 • Uncharted 2: Among Thieves
 • Mass Effect
 • Mass Effect 2
 • God of War 3 (though I guess I didn't really like the game all that much, either way the boss sucked compared to earliar ones)
 • Ninja Gaiden
 • Resistance 2 (one of the worst boss fights of all time)
 • Assassin's Creed 2 (though this was in part due to the lame combat system)

...and many, many more.

*SPOILER ALERT* Who were you expecting? Zeus had to be the last boss. And I thought it was pretty epic. Especially the last part where you get to bash him in repeatedly. Hardly a disappointment. The ending? Maybe. But not the boss fight. Gears of War 2 had a terrible final boss battle. I dont think they could even classify it as a boss battle... Compared to General Raam and every other boss in any game.. it was a complete joke.

It's harder to come up with good final bosses than it is bad ones. Shadow of the Colossus had a cool end boss.

With all the people saying Gears 2, I couldn't remember what it was. So I googled it, and remembered the lameness that was shooting it with the Hammer of Dawn. Completely forgot about that. So my vote goes to that. At least the other terrible end bosses I remembered.

the only reason i did that was i made a foolhardy mistake and saved my game in the middle of the fight...........and about three days later i came back, booted up the game......load the save......and as soon as it started i got owned HARD by the old man.......after that i do what i do best......GET XTRA CHEESY :p
