What are games you thought were brilliant in concept, design, gameplay, etc.; but did not become widely accepted by gamers?
My pick goes to Uru: Ages Beyond Myst.

My pick goes to Uru: Ages Beyond Myst.
Okami, Psychonauts, Killer 7, Ico, Future Cop: LAPD, Metal Arms: Glitch in the System, Valkyria Chronicles and Crush.
But NOT and I repeat, NOT Beyond Good and Evil. Seriously... that game disappointed the hell outta me...
ICO, Shadow of the Colossus, Ninja Gaiden Black(best game on Xbox, it did not even sell a million, yet, its sequel which is crap in comparison, did), Guilty Gear, SIREN: Blood Curse.MightyMunaagreed, but NG + NGB sold over a million combined (NGB is the same game with extras) -
I wish Resident Evil Remake was more successful in sales, but with the type of gameplay it had it wasn't really a surprise for me. It was truly a well done remake but to bad the gameplay wasn't users friendly for newcomers. When it really comes down to it the game really appeal to the old school gamer and with it being on the Gamecube the sales wasn't that high.-DarthMaul-REmake sold over a million
I feel that more people should have played System Shock 2. It's just so...awesome.

I am counting down the days before this game is brought to Steam. Do you know if SS2 is on Xfire? If so, I'll go and buy it!!!
Shadow of RomeLto_thaGOh yeah *goes to goozex to put game on hold*
lol Anyway, just saying the gameplay videos makes me agree. SoR looks incredible.
Psychonauts EuroMafiaAnother game I still need to get.
Ico - I heard the sales were less than 500K or something, which is saddening -Mad_Rhetoric-Ditto.
[QUOTE="EuroMafia"]Psychonauts organic_machine
True that. And Beyong Good and Evil, except BGAE is getting a sequel!
Yet another game I still need to play. Beyond Good & Evil looks amazing.System Shock 2 and Dead Space.GinoNYCWas I the only one, out of curiosity, who felt that Dead Space felt somewhat like a remake of System Shock 2 sans SHODAN?
Why have people posted in the same colour as the background? I had to highlight each just to read them :P
I would say LBP, but to be honest Im startig to get bored of the game, I might try to get back into it but even the devs levels are not amazing.
The only level i created which is good is not really a level, just messing about...

No, you're not the only one. I still enjoyed the game, though and your critique towards Dead Space is the only one I can take seriously, because most of people criticising it got stuck towards Resident Evil 4 comparisons...
[QUOTE="GinoNYC"]System Shock 2 and Dead Space.thepwninatorWas I the only one, out of curiosity, who felt that Dead Space felt somewhat like a remake of System Shock 2 sans SHODAN? Yeah, seemed like a spiritual sequel to SS 2. Even the load screens look similar, lol. Too bad SS 2 didn't sell that well...Dead Space could have done better in sales, also. But at least EA confirmed a sequel, which they never did for SS 2.

Criticizing it? One of my top gaming wishes was for a remake or sequel to the System Shock franchise, and I got it :)
There were, IMO, a few things that would've made it even better, but it was still a great game (and I was actually very, very happy that there wasn't breakdown of weapons, TBH). So far, it's my favorite new game of '08 (I preferred The Witcher: Enhanced Edition, however), though I have yet to play Fallout 3, but I'm waiting for mod support before I pick that up...
