The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds is the best Zelda game in years, say Gamespot and Tom McShea. Better than Wind Waker, or Twilight Princess, or Skyward Sword, or the DS games, which, while great, all had a 'BUT' qualifier attached to them.

A Link Between Worlds is just great, no questions asked. It reaches the heights that this franchise used to be known for.

It releases November 22, and along with Super Mario 3D World, represents the best games available on next generation devices currently.

That's good to hear, especially when it's coming from McShea.

No, what Wii U needs is its own compelling games, thankfully it's started to get some.

Good stuff. I'll pick it up down the line. Not really hankering for another Zelda.

God damn, he really is enthusiastic about this one. I, too, hope the Wii U version applies this formula.

No, I highly recommend against skipping Wind Waker HD (particularly if you have never played it before).

In fact, I would recommend starting with Wind Waker HD and then moving on to A Link Between Worlds, since WWHD is more beginner friendly.

I'd agree, but that's just me.

I find the 3D Zelda's to be rather boring. Not sure why. The 2D/top-down Zeldas have always just felt much better to me especially when a lot of the gameplay is about solving puzzles. It just seems like a better fit to the top-down approach.

I don't have a 3DS though, so no Zelda for me. Not yet at least.

I hope so.

Imo Zelda has it in it to be the best series in gaming by a fair margin. It's only through Nintendo's ignorance that the series has been fumbled so badly over the years.

From what I gather, this game isn't even hitting Zelda's true potential, but rather just on the path to finding what made the series so popular in the past. I'll be trying this one out for myself as soon as I can.

I agree with pretty much everything Tom said about recent Zelda games. I'm glad that they took out all of the filler and handholding.

I laughed so hard when Tom was like, "And Spirit Tracks...well Spirit Tracks just sucks."

I'm getting this for Christmas. I absolutely adore Zelda handheld games, Link's awakening is so remarkable alongside the totally underrated Oracle of Seasons/Ages games. This one has so much potential, I really can't wait to play it!

Take the other dude's opinion then, the one who reviewed the game.

Or any of the 50+ people who have contributed to the game's 91 Metascore.

It's your call :)

Couldn't stand the gameboy ones myself. Don't get me wrong, they are really great as games, but man the two item limit for hotkeys really killed the fluidness of those games. Nintendo should really update those games with a couple more hotkey options and they would be golden imo.

With that said, everything about this game looks good. The controls are smooth (yay touchscreen menus!), the gameplay looks genuinely good, no Navi, the music on youtube is really good, the 3D effect is supposed to be really good, and most reviews are putting it at around 15-20 hours.

Yeah, it is kind of annoying constantly switching out items from the option menu over and over again. I agree Nintendo should really just remake them from their 2D glory and give it the 3DS treatment, they would make millions so I don't see what is stopping them.

I'm so relieved this game will be lengthy, and I'm impressed they actually came up with new game mechanics as well. It's a great time to be a 3DS owner

Am i really te only one who enjoyed Spirit Tracks? i liked it much more than Phantom Hourglass.

Anyway...i'm agree with some of the things McShea said but he sounds as he didn't liked the other games, and while the last Zelda games were far from perfect i think he forgets to mention how good some of those games were, specially Windwaker.

But yeah, this Zelda looks freaking amazing.
