GameSpot announces the shutdown of System Wars

Damn, we all know things were getting worse and worse, but GameSpot finally decided to pull the plug. And right before the Switch 2 reveal too, nonetheless. What will be your favorite memories of this place, SW? What do you plan on doing next? I guess I’ll find some other forum. Probably won’t be the same.

@last_lap: yes. I was a member of mortalkombatonline.com back in the day, which was mk5.org back in the day. Couldn’t think of a better name.

@outworld222: Use to love me some MK back in the day, and still own every version on the Sega Mega Drive and still have a bash every now & then. Kinda lost interest in the franchise, but bought not the most recent one, but the one before that forgot the name.

So have you played every MK game, and do you still play them?

I stopped with Armageddon. There were a few crossovers that had cool concepts, but it seems to me like a lot of artistic talent left when John Tobias left. Big mistake to have him let go in my view.

Also WB always pushing Boon to work on a new mortal kombat every two years, you can imaging it won’t be as creative as past games.

So basically, I’ve given up on the franchise. The closest thing I would play is on MUGEN when I get the urge for some combat.
