yea i understand but they honestly thru some things together as you can tell, also remember nintendo they are not scared to tell the truth whch is why i respect reggie and he said it in an interview the games will be 1080p.

your right i dont think its going to be minblowing graphically better then the hd twins but will be a significant difference which is cool for the nex gen im fine with the graphics we have now to be honest.

to be honest though sony already confirmed they are not going for a powerhouse approach for the ps4 so i doubt they will look that much stronger then the Wiiu when they drop either

Mario1331

is it okay though? It's receiving multiplats from games designed around current gen games. Once next gen consoles come out 2-3 years after wii u releases it'll be wii vs. ps3/360 all over again. Poof there goes 3rd party support and now i'm waiting 8+ months between the next nintendo game for 2-3 years, again. It has been rumored that nintendo has been enticing 3rd part devs with incentives so who knows how support will be in the future. But i'm not going to hyped over some tech demos.

why would third parties stop making games for nintendos new system? your thinking too much as in the nex ms/sony console is going to be a wii/ps3 graphic difference....its really not the companies learned to much raw power is not the way to go.

its more or less going to be like gc/xbox/ps2 thing with slight graphic differences which is nothing wrong with that and im pretty sure your going to get more then one console anyway theres nothing to worry about when that happens then you have every right to speak about the issue that upsets you. But as of right now the wiiu will have the superior multi plats which is pretty cool seeing as nintendo is not about power.

also devs want more money multiplat on all systems will definately help them in the long run to produce higher visual games

sheesh games were all about fun now look at what we become:(

Consoles released a year apart maybe but they're rumored to be 2-3 years apart. We're looking at a DC to ps2/gc/xbox gap. Superior multiplats to ps3 and 360 should be a given. Nintendo so far has proven to be incompetent when it comes to online gaming. I wish they spent some time on that but we still have 8-16 more months before it releases.

whats your issue man the wiiu is shaping up great i dont get why you care for the graphics so much the fact is the graphics WILL look better the 360/ps3 games its not that hard to tell the legend of zleda looked amazing

Mario1331

It wasn't in 1080p is all i'm getting at. I find it strange that a simple game like that wouldn't be in 1080p but i'm supposed to believe two "demos(bird and zelda)" will little or no interactivity at all are. Better than ps3 and 360 technically? I would hope a system that's releasing 6-7 years later is more powerful.

Reggie didnt seem that confident in that interview and seemed to be sweating a little.

Multiplatform? Besides it seems that BF3 is enough to satisfy most PC gamers here at GameSpot

The new Wii just seems like an unwanted DS from the 80's

Willy105

That makes no sense. Everything about that is nonsensical. How is it a DS? How is it unwanted? How is it from the 80's?

Whoa 3 replies to this. Man am I controversial today.

Anyway, I must admit I was acting a bit silly.

I got the DS part from the controller, which is kinda like the DS.

I got the 80's part from it being freakin massive.

It doesn't seem like a real revolution, or even a good design choice imo. I don't want to hold that thing, but then again people were cynical when Wii came out, so who knows

But for now, to me, it looks horrid.

Got to hand it to Gametrailers. Wow! BRILLIANT coverage yesterday with a high quality and stable video stream as well as the in-between interviews and game demonstrations. A very professional display that makes me proud to be a gamer; I feel that they really took it to the next level and I'm hoping other gaming sites will follow suit in years to come. Great interviews where Geoff Keighley did great job in highlighting a lot of interesting details and angles from developers and their respective games or projects. And the keynote evaluations, predictions and expectations made for an enjoyable spectacle. Bravo GT!

I don't think the current ones have seen full potential but a new Wii probably isn't a bad idea since its dead.

I do and I don't. I think the Wii definitely needs an update (I sold mine about a year ago, still play the Wii at my friends house though) simply because of how outdated the tech inside is. The HD twins can stay as they are. With dev costs climbing to insane heights I dread the day when AAA games are like 70 bucks. D:

I wouldn't really call Cafe "Next Gen" but we have not seen enough of it to say it is superior to PS3 or 360 in any way. Chances are it will bring the Wii-style games up to acceptable graphics standards this generation if not have a slight edge on the competition. But being so early is a double sided sword, once the PS4 - Nextbox release they will probably be far more powerfull than Nintendo unless they are running for a low cost machine.

Why did you call the Wii U by its supposed code name? And one thing, technology has nothing to do with generation; it has to do with release date so the Wii U is considered "next generation" because it will be released after the current generation.

Why don't you consider it next gen?fabz_95

Nothing I have seen yet strikes me as new or innovative. It could be that we only got a glimpse of the system as a whole, but for now colour me unimpressed with the Wii-U being "Next-gen" So far it looks like it's catching up to this generation lol. Like I said time will tell if I'll consider it an actual jump when the time comes, if they make that Zelda tech demo a reality then they have my sale day one.

The Wii would not have become nowhere near as popular with a title as long and as complicated as "Revolution". Casuals would have looked at the name and saw it as another toy.

Yeah, it was.

You see the other consoles with pompous names like Xbox 360, PLAYSTATION 3 (in all caps), and the PSP, a console named the Wii seemed refreshing and not like the other ones, which helps if you associated those previous names with toys for children.

The Wii having an audience of non-gamer adults and even seniors show that "toy" was not something they had in mind when they thought of the Wii.

Like I said time will tell if I'll consider it an actual jump when the time comes, if they make that Zelda tech demo a reality then they have my sale day one.

In my opinion,I think Microsoft had a better E3 then Sony and Nintendo.Halo 4,Halo:CE,Kinect Star Wars,Gears of War 3,and Fable:The Journey just to name a few. Those titles are for sure going to be system sellers.I have both a Xbox 360 and a PS3,but Sony does not impress me this E3 and I don't want a Nintendo console because I'm not into childrens videogames.Xbox has far better lineup of games coming. This is my opinion and not intended to offend anyone.God Bless and Good Gaming.

Where are the gifs from MS's conference?. When that guy was shooting in GR it looked like he had an invisable jack in the box.

Is this post some kind of sick joke?. Star Wars and Fable both look awful, they'll struggle to sell themselves let alone systems. You call Nintendo games childish yet the gameplay in their games has far more depth than swinging your arms around.

[QUOTE="DarkLink77"][QUOTE="Willy105"] The Wii would not have become nowhere near as popular with a title as long and as complicated as "Revolution". Casuals would have looked at the name and saw it as another toy.Willy105

And Wii was a name that inspired confidence that it wasn't another toy. Uh huh.

The name "Wii" did more for Viral marketing than it did anything else. The jokes were everywhere even in non-gaming groups I knew. That was the "Magic" of the name Wii, not that it wasn't called the "nintendo" or "Revolution" the pure male anatomy part 100% of us thought about when we seen the name "Wii"

I'm just used to calling it Cafe...and it's a far better name anyways. Wether or not people call it next gen or not doesn't matter to me. I wont consider it next gen myself.Jynxzor
... Why? It's a next generation console with more power than the current consoles. Not just that, by definition it is next generation. You can't just redefine the term gaming generation to fit your own agenda.

Whether or not it impresses you has no bearing on whether or not it's technically next gen. It is a next-gen console by definition and you can't just change the meaning of the term. This is ridiculous, any console that succeeds another is next gen. It could be the least powerful of next gen consoles, or the worst, but it's still next gen.

And why not? It's not like anyone is writing a book here on video game terms so what does it matter? Why would you care if random guy on the internet #14 called something next-gen?

Sure it will technically be "Next gen" but I'll call it whatever I want to call it. It's nothing "Next gen" to it to me so I'll refuse to call it such until I see something that convinces me it's actually a leap from the previous systems. I could re-package the NES and call it "Next gen" because I added a cool eject switch.

What about the tablet?

I agree it has potential but until like I said I need to see more. I want to know the range, can I play it in my room a that is a ways away from my system? Is the resolution a true screen and not using a slighty crushed resolution like most tablets that the screen looks to be based on. What kind of games are we going to see in the future, we have tech demos and games that look just like Wii games. Nothing Nintendo has shown us is playable at the powerfull levels they are telling us. It's not my fault Nintendo rushed the announcment and show in general. Until I see more, Tablets have been on the market longer than the Wii-U the only thing it solved was the massive need for buttons on the iOS devices.

It was rushed, but they had to do it.

Otherwise, fair enough.

Far be it from me to say it's not a new machine, I just don't see anything "Yet" that screams to me that it's something more powerfull than what we currently have. Obviously not many people agree with me but thats fine they are entitled to there opinion as much as I am.
