I was in a tank once with a bunch of fish and stingray. It was pretty terrifying. I was basically wearing a Big Daddy type suit (before I knew anything about them) and everytime I lowered my face I got a mouth full of water. All you can hear is the air pump and your breathing. Freaky stuff man!
Ta!
[QUOTE="meetroid8"]Nothing more than anyone really expected I'm sure....strahd01I saw someone hyping this when it was announced mostly pimping the graphics off. i wasn't impress and i guess other people wernt either
Well I'm sure there will be a few people who love the game and everyone else will be completely uninterested in it. I'm going to at least try it.
[QUOTE="xTHExJUICEx"]"Weak Story" What was Aaron expecting from the game?St_muscatThats what I thought I mean WTF?
lol, he is legendary. :D
I already bought this from Amazon over the weekend. Got it yesterday. :D
EDIT: If you watch the video review, it sounds like a game that deserves 8.5, not 7.0.
why'd they let aaron thomas review it?Silenthps
because his reviews arent good enough for GS to let him review big games.
Wait there a weak story emblem for this game? What? Was Aaron expecting a good story in this game?Wanderer5
Yeah... seriously. This game has nothing to do with story and I hoped the reviewer would understand that. This is suppose to be a relaxing game, where you can do anything you want and not be limited by a complex story.

If you watch the video review, he also says, "There's no sense of danger." :?

that's exactly how i felt too. He really sounded like he enjoyed the game alot, and that despite some annoyances it really was an incredible experience.. on top of that praise, it is budget so although it may not be as long lasting as some games, it's alot cheaper. Either way, I hope people here will not just brush it aside because its a 7.0.. it's unique, and incredible. A great addition to the wii's library.
Anyways, i got it a few days ago and i'm enjoying it. It's not something i would play for hours on end, but i've enjoyed playing it off and on throughout the last few days.

The irony of that statement is that so few games nowadays for the 360 or PS3 last very long, either. For single player, at least.

but he would be judging the game off of wii standards for game length :) :D
Hard to believe it qualifies as a game. I've heard it's closer in content to an interactive fish gallery.
Mordred19
I've heard the same. Hard to believe it achieved that score if true.

Uh, is there any reason to give it the "bad story" emblem? I mean, what were you expecting from a game like this? :?
Still, I wasn't that interested in it to begin with and I actually expected lower, but oh well, I guess it's one of those games you play to just relax and enjoy the scenery. What I'm wondering though is how come they've reviewed this, but still haven't gotten around to reviewing Advance Wars: Days of Ruin? Days of Ruin is long and has a huge load of replay value, but I figured it had a higher priority then Endless Ocean.
in fact the more i see these non traditional games get criticized by gamers the more i feel that very few gamers look at games as "art".

*claps*
You're exactly right. A lot of gamers are either interested in a FPS or quick action game these days. None of them really look for any games with artistic merit like say... Ico, Shadow of the Colossus, and Okami or games that are meant to be fun without really being a game like Brain Age, Animal Crossing and Endless Ocean.
I've personally played every single one of those games and they're all very unique.
The thing is, with games like Endless Ocean, you have to think of -who- exactly the game is made for.
When I first saw a clip of this game, I thought immediately that the game was meant for me because I have a HUGE interest in marine biology. That doesn't mean I'm a 'casual' gamer though because I play many many different franchises. But I like to find little games like this that only a few gamers appreciate.
I do admit though, there are a ton of things that could've been done differently, but compared to Arika's last two games like this (everblue and everblue 2). It is a HUGE improvement. So yeah, I do agree and disagree with some points of the review, but I would give it an 8. Because for what it is, it does exactly what you would expect from it, giving you a virtual diving experience. I've never actually been scuba-diving before and I know a lot of people would say 'Well why don't you just go scuba-diving in real life?' That goes back to the Wii Sports argument of 'Why don't you go play sports in real life?' Well, for one thing, scuba-diving can be really expensive depending on what equipment you need and where you dive at. And you only get to see the things around that area, and sometimes you may not see very much! In Endless Ocean, you get to see a lot of things and LEARN about them. I don't understand why so many gamers are afraid to LEARN. I mean... come on guys, expand your interests.
Anyways, I'm off to go train my Orca in Endless Ocean.
