No more low AA or high AAA, from now on it's either 8.0 or 8.5, no in between. And also putting meta critic average alongside Gamespot review score, kinda kills the argument that only Gamespot scores matter here.

Overall, I don't like how they took out scores for each of the components but I do like the new medal thing.

Still, I'm going to continue relying on IGN for my reviews like I have in the past.

good question..but that would cause alot of problems if they do. the main reason why i liked gamespot's reviews in the first place was because they didnt hand out 9s and 10s so easy

100% agree!! Who was the genius behind this? This is huge and I can't believe GS wouldn't consult their audiance b4 making such a drastic change.

rofl, I was wondering how they were going to avoid making NGS equal to Wii's RE4 in score.

This way they can rate it a 7.5 and say it was because of the new procedure to rate a game ROFL.

basically this means you can throw away all previous scores from all games (including titles such as Gears of War)

To be honest, i blame thre wii.

They're basically dumbing it down for casuals. the root of evil strikes again.

you realize that it's going to help the wii games the most because there will be more emphasis on the gaming experience as a whole rather than individual components like graphics.

That's exactly what I thought. People will also be even less likely to read the actual reviews that the editors work so hard on because of the "medals" awarded to games.
