If anyone is worried/excited by Gamespot's list of games that "won" E3, they put wayyyyy too much importance on gaming expos. As far as I'm concerned, when the game is in my hand and being sold to the public that it actually matters. On that basis, Halo 3 will still kill Little Big Planet, whether or not it won the "coveted" Gamespot game ofE3 award.Speaking as a person who has absolutely no interest in the latter game, this news means nothing, as does nothing to change my mind about the game.It's not like the public is going to turn on the 360 based on a few gameplay videos from E3. Besides, I think many people would agree that neither of those two games are their most anticipated for the end of this year (mine being Mass Effect and Assassin's Creed, among others).

Anyways, Halo 3 falls far short of all the great games coming out this year. Maybe last year it would have been great (although it would have had Gears to contend with), but this year with Bioshock, Call of Duty 4, Killzone 2, AND all the other great games that aren't shooters? Halo 3 will be a 2008 title for those of us who can't afford to buy all the major releases this year.

Wow, I'm actually surprised that Gamespot did a great job with this. They realized the PS3 has the best line up, evidenced by having mostly PS3 exclusives in the PS3's finalists, while the 360 has 3 multiplat games in its finalist, and a multiplat game won best game for the 360, which wasn't even a finalist for the PS3. That, right there, is major ownage for the Lemmings. Also, LBP as game of the show was a great pick. That game is going to have endless possibilities. All you haters posting negative comments about the game obviously don't understand what it's all about. I'm happy Gamespot does. (Also, Halo 3 and Metroid 3 not even finalists for best shooter - that's gotta hurt).

Past shows = E3 shows. Not GDC, TGS or anything else. Just like if they gave an award for these other shows, it is doubtful you will see it garner another award forthat next show if it is shown again. That is just how GS rolls.

Why are Madden 08 and Wii Fit among Wii finalists and not Zack & Wiki?

1up & GS seem to have totally overlooked this one, only IGN and even gametrailer seem to know about it and it's also a nominee for best puzzle game by Game Critics. 1up hasn't even mention the game in their podcast like it doesn't even exist and GS prefer putting Madden 08 on the list instead of a brand new, original game that actually seem to make good use of the wiimote.

Sorry, but Gamespot or no, Mass Effect looks to be my game of the year, so I'm not too concerned with what they're saying. Also, to everyone who says the 360 has no games next year, that's the great part; since there isn't too much announced, we have no idea what could be coming next year. Do you honestly think the 360 will have no big games in '08? Be serious. And with the lineup that's coming out this fall, there's no reason to worry about 2008 yet, because there's still a million great 360 games coming out in 2007.

I'm a lemming and I say the best show was sony's, but I think 360 has far more games that interest me than any other console.

If it were a 360 games it'd be "see cows/sheep, we have more than just shooters" but because it's a Sony its not getting all the hype it should. I'm curious about it. Too bad it's not coming this year. It could be a system seller.
