They are doing everything they can for you to know nothing about how good uncharted (PS3 exclusive) is. First they did not even make a video review, even if they know it's a very important andinternationally aclaimed game for the PS3. Second they removed earlythe scrolling ads of the written review from all the pages, way before they others that were OLDER !!!! It's soooooooo hilarious some people still think gamespot is not biased. Microsoft is a CNET partner, CNET owns gamespot, gamespot bashes the PS3. The gamingindustry does not agree the gamespot reviews about the PS3. Look at gamerankings.comcramoisi
Yeah like its just gamespot, no review system is perfect. Still though surely if what your saying is true they would have reviewed and given it a terrible score rather than ignore it? and dont say that no publicity is bad publicity because after the gs lair review your seriously gonna tell me people were'nt put off?
It is just a number.

Their review puts the game as "great".
And GameRankings agrees with GameSpot that Uncharted is an AA game. It also agrees Resistance, Ratchet and Clank, Motorstorm and Warhawk are not AA games.
So in the end, your argument falls down to no video review (here's a crazy idea, they were busy, Mass Effect, UT3, SMG and Crysis had just come out) and ads you saw on the site.

Evidently not, it was the lowest scoring of all these games.
To say Uncharted deserved a video review means your giving it a sense of merit seperate from its review score. They probably played it and figured it didn't deserve/need one.
Should I be complaining the Witcher received no video review (despite scoring higher), should I complain Sup Com: Forged Alliance received no video review (despite scoring higher).
Or should I just accept that just because a game received no video review, it is not necessarily true GameSpot was trying to make me ignore it.
You know that the length of scrolling ads is determined based on how much the publisher paid, right? If they didn't want to pay for a lenghty Ad campain, they don't have to. Most of the worlds best games speak for them selves. And what about Kayne and Lynch? They gave that like a month of ads, and thent they tore it apart.
Their's no reason for them not to like sony. all the editiors get a free console to do these reveiws on, plus the games, so why would they have to play favorites, when every company's stuff is the same price of free.
You know, alot of people are going to look at the review and decide to pass on the game...in reality it's simply amazing and a must have experience. It's really worth getting.TREAL_Since
Those people then are going to miss a lot of worthy games, the "great" label is not just a figure of speech.

It says he's assigned a value to this game and doesn't look at GameSpot for guidance, but rather validation.

That's true. And I also think that the review was horrible. GS has really been slacking lateley.

I don't think their slacking, they have harsher reviews across the board. This has always been the case. I'd rather hear about all a game's faults then have an optimistic IGN sugar coated diatribe which ends up with me buying a lot of poor games (which happened before I made the switch to GameSpot).
Bottom line is, if the reviewers I listen to are too harsh, I do more research or test things out with a rent (or a demo n PC). If their too lenient, I end up with a library full of crap.

There are many games that scored less that got video reviews, besides, Uncharted was a big game for the ps3 and GS are making it out like its nothing with no video review and taking it off the thingi at the start.

And there were many games that scored more that didn't get them. There is no casual link between those things.
I don't see how not making a video review is forcing us to ignore Uncharted, the video review is very much secondary to the written.

It's not about the review, its about the way that it was reviewed then left for dead with no further news on it and taken of the front and stuff. Have gamespot even updated that dusty ps3 dude thing since we found out he was a fox news employee? Don't seem as eager to do that as put up the story are they?
I read ur post, but all I heard was "I'm a COW, boohoo, I bought a PS3 and since there is nothing great to play on it, I come to SW to complain about Gamespot"
Oh and about the banners... Hmmm.... ever heard of "advertising", you know advertising costs money.... just like posting ads in a newspaper.
Would you call the newspaper and say "Hey, I'm a really good person will you run my post in this Saturdays paper for FREE!", "WHAT?!?!, YOU WON'T"
"But I just told you, I'm a good guy"
"Oh you Newspaper people are just Biased"

It says he's assigned a value to this game and doesn't look at GameSpot for guidance, but rather validation.
The value you speak of is his own biased. Somewhere In my mind I probably want JSRF, warioland 3 to have scored perfect 10's because they're some of my favourite games and the original spyro to have achieved a 9.0 but in reality I know the score they got is more or less the score they deserved. Obviously gamespots review system is'nt going to be perfect and we should really get games because we think we're going to enjoy them not because they got 9.0 or above but basically what that guy said is because alot of PS3 games are'nt scoring well then gamespot is'nt worth taking seriously. Games we like are'nt always going to go through the review system with great scores but seriously 8.0 is'nt that bad, I think people just want to make a fuss because they think the games they enjoy feel just as greater games or better than something GoW that scored a 9.6 but from a relatively unbiased third party this may not the case. The people that are complaining obviously really like this game so is'nt it obviouse that, that would make you just as biast as someone who did'nt really like that game? Gamespots reviewing system may not be perfect but there gonna be a hell lot less unbiased than a fanboy.
Im just gonna say that some of that I was thinking of other people in this topic, so thats not all pointed at you mustaf_nur89, Im sure you can work ouy which bits are you :P

Jeez stop with bias this, bias that.
I've hardly seen much of Mass Effect from GS and its so far the GOTY in my opinion and a game that is gonna redefine WRPG's in the future.
Just becoz GS hasnt made out Uncharted is the greatest game ever isnt reason to start calling Gspot, Lemspot or whatever. I've excepted the Mass Effect score of 8.5 and little pushing of the title. Even if this is possibly a real GOTY contender with SMG, Orange Box, Bioshock and Crysis.
1. PGR3
2. PGR4
3. Saints Row
4. Dead Rising
5. Lost Planet
6. Viva Pineata
7. Mass Effect
8. Crackdown
...Teh Bias is unbelievable.... Mass Effect got a very low score here but yet you over look this becuase you concentrate on games that are on your platform.
No one is bias but fanboys... reviewer's play every game they review if they like it they will give ita great score if not they wont simple as... Im sure your site if you ever made one wouldn't even need to be payed off to perform such bias journalism.

Gamespots score if I'm not mistaken is based on how the whole gaming audience looks at a game. This is were I'm at fault with GS. ME 8.5 > Uncharted 8. But more people in general would rather play a shooter then an RPG. SO that defeats the point of their logic.
Rented it and got up to 91% completed
And after that I lost the will to even finish the game.
Platforming is shoddy and the Zombie Creatures are retarded.

Yes your are very badly informed about reviews... each game is reviewed by a review with his/her own opinion about a game, it has nothing to do with "hey what do fanboys and other games think this should get".

Uncharted a shooter???
Seriously Mass Effect is more of a shooter than UnCharted.
The ultimate proof that i needed that GS doesn't give a crap about PS3 games was the lack of a video review for PS3's most anticipated game of the year, Uncharted. Seriously, how could they not make a video review for this game? They probably didn't want to show how great it looks.:?lusitanogamer

Wow, you obviously haven't played either of these games. Why are you even commenting?
I don't care about GS reviews any more. In fact I don't care about reviews in general any more. As long as I get a demo to play, then I can figure out if I want to buy the game.
I only look at the reviews to get a broad indication if the game is good or not.
Uncharted is an AWESOME game. Just buy it already, lol.
I'll be buying this game for Xmas and then UT3 early in the new year.
Hopefully by Xmas I'll have beaten NGS.

Lad, you've got to be joking.
Uncharted has franchise written all over it. You know the graphics are top notch as well. Graphically it's the best looking game on PS3.
The game has great scores overall from the gaming media.

Exactly man its all opinion anyway, even if a awesome game got a 6 it does'nt change the fact its awesome in your own eyes. If theers a demo theres no need for a review really because with a demo you can make up your own mind. Other wise gameplay videos, renting or friends who have the game can usually supplement a review. The only reason I usually watch/read a review is just because Im curiouse of someone elses opinion on the game or how the game is being viewed by the eyes of the genral gaming media. I mean redsteel got a bad score, at first I was a bit put off (Normally I would'nt have been, but a score below 7.0 is generally considered exceptionally low so I was a little jared and I was'nt that interested in the first place. Nowadays I would still try and get a better idea about a game im interested in rather than going below 7 instant fail) but when a mate managed to convinced me to get it I gave it a shot. It turned out all the points they made in the review were fair criticsm but you know what, It still did'nt stop me from enjoying it, the acrade feel made it alot of fun. If a game gets a low score it does usually say SOMETHING about the game but it does'nt neccessarily mean its not fun :).
