[QUOTE="layton2012"]I feel like they should still nominate skyward sword even its just to show they have some representation for the wii even if they have no intention of allowing it to win and many other GS writer may very well believe SS is GOTY material this is GS GOTY not Tom mcshea GOTYJolt_counter119
Fine, then inFamous 2 should be nominated as well. :x
Reviewers consult each other before they publish the score. It's the website's score, not just Tom McShea's. There's a reason his reviews are published on the site: He is part of it.
By your logic, Gamespot should publish multiple reviews for one game, each one by a different reviewer. It just doesn't work that way, because then their would be no point to the site. Reviewers would just break up and create their own websites.
Get over your dissapoinment, Sheep!
True the score is decided by all the staff, but not based on their opinions of the game but based on the tone of the review so that the score doesn't contradict the review. Don't quote me on it but I remember a quote by the guy doing the walkthrough for the game stating he has run into the same problems but it didn't affect him much and he would easily give it an 8.5 (maybe higher).
I think SS will no doubt get nominated.
So it will come down to "Do we nominate Skyward Sword, which we gave 7.5, or should we nominate Shogun II, Witcher 2, or Dead Space 2?"
Those last three got 9s here (on PS3 for Dead Space). Now which would be a bigger snub: Leaving out games that GS deemed "SUPERB" for a game deemed "GOOD" or leaving out a game deemed "GOOD" for a game deemed "SUPERB"??????????????
And if other staff have higher opinions, then they probably do the same for other games. What if Kevin van Ord is the only one who think Dark Souls deserves a 9.5, and the rest think it deserves a 10? You could make your argument for any game.
