GameSpot's GOTYs seems has a genre ~conspiracy~

Kind of curious because from the last 4 years...

2006 GOTY - Gears of War (Third Person Shooter)

2007 GOTY - Super Mario Galaxy (Platformer)

2008 GOTY - Metal Gear Solid 4 (Action/Adventure/Stealth)

2009 GOTY - Demon's Souls (Role Playing Game)

2010 GOTY - ...You'd be the judge...(err I mean GameSpot)

So far the main contenders are:

-Red Dead Redemption

-Super Mario Galaxy 2

-God of War 3

-Mass Effect 2

IMO of course; if I missed any, just post them.

So the thing is, this year could either be a FPS (Halo Reach), another platformer (SMG2, LBP2), or action (RDR, GOW3). IMO I don't really see another RPG (ME2) winning a GOTY. But this could be debunked since RE4 (TPS) and Gears (TPS) won consecutively on 2005 and 2006.

THE bottom line is, I wouldn't be surprised if a RACING game wins GOTY...

What if Torchic and Bulbasaur were in Kinectimals? :oSilverChimera

Nintendo would sue MS and run them out of the console business and apply the Kinectimals idea to something for the Wii except with "Wii" in the title and it'll sell millions. 8)

Now that I look at that list, the only game I even remotely agree with is MGS4. Not that I really cared, or that I really put any value in GS reviews, but thats actually pretty terrible to me.

GOW3 has already won, in my eyes.

I'd love to see Reach win it. I've loved every iteration thus far, including ODST, & would love to see the series end with a GotY. To do it, I think it will need a 10, which I think is very possible given how much content will be in Reach, especially seeing how easily Gamespot give out 10s lately. A 10 usually means best in the genre, & with everything Reach is packing, it's possible.

They could pull another 2009 & give it to a lower rated game, so maybe it doesn't need a 10.

LOL. I am guessing LBP2, GT5, or Starcraft II. Out of those I'm only really excited for LBP2.

I dont see a pattern. Am i missing something? Anyways, i think this years GOTY will be another PS3 exclusive.djsifer01
