Didn't even know there was a poll.
So System Warriors,
Are you part of the Xbox's 36%
Sony's 34%
or Nintendo's 13%?

I'll most likely be doing what I've done since 2 generations ago, Sony and Nintendo. I see no reason to buy an Xbox, the first had some games that I was frustrated to not play but I don't think there is a single 360 exclusive within it's limited selection that I'd want an Xbox for.
What little we know about the WiiU isn't particularly exciting. There aren't any exciting titles yet and people are confused about the controller. The new Xbox and Playstation, however, are exciting unknowns upon which fans can project dreams of countless possibilities.Meinhard1
All We know from the Wii U is that it has a Touchscreen controller. If anything, knowing that alone is enough to stimulate the brain into thinking of creative ideas that the Wii U is capable of.
On the other hand, all I see on system wars is people wishing for PC graphics on consoles, and making up their dream specs. That's far from projecting "dreams of countless posibilities."

Well, we know the WiiU will allow you to play a game either on TV, the controller itself, or a combination of both via dual screen ala DS/3DS. The same options go for surfing the web with the option of either landscape or portrait mode. The videos out on it shows built-in drawing functions which will be fantastic for my kid.
Regardless of what you think of the games that go along with it, the Kinect is amazing. According to Msoft at CES the next Kinect will be so precise that it can read lips.
Enjoy your future lems.

For some odd reason I find this quite cool. My older brother's daughter would love this. and I hate MS for the record.[QUOTE="Meinhard1"]What little we know about the WiiU isn't particularly exciting. I personally don't find the Wii U controller to be that inspiring. The DS already has a second screen with touch capabilities; the 3DS even added the motion control... it's all nice to have but nothing new. After playing Skyward Sword I'm much more interested in playing more motion plus games than using a tablet controller. I'm sure Nintendo will show some mind-blowing stuff at the next E3 but for now I'm not particularly excited.[QUOTE="D4W1L4H"][QUOTE="Meinhard1"]What little we know about the WiiU isn't particularly exciting. That Ubisoft developed game about the little pirhanna looking aliens was actually really neat about the WiiU If i'm going to get two consoles at launch it will be the WiiU and PS4. That is for sure. The NB percentage for sure. :D
I have no doubt that this survey would apply to most of the general public as well. I love what I seen with the WiiU so far though but i'm pretty sure most consumers this time around don't want another dust collector or anything that resembles it too closely -- which might be a common assumption if they don't redesign it or at least change the name.
That's not really a surprise but I also was completely unaware of said poll.
Nintendo has always been known for its casual games and it reflects pretty well amongst the "hardcore" community.
That said I don't think there is really any reason to judge amongt the 3 yet considering we know next to nothing. I know people have developed expectations among the 3 but there is really no telling exactly what kind of hardware/controller/services are going to be offered.
Let's just wait till E3 shall we?
I don't understand this survey :/ We literally know NOTHING about the NextBox/PS4 and people are picking that over something we know about and have concrete info on. It's this mindset that doesn't even make sense, and you see it everywhere. Even before we knew anything about Wii U, you saw people already saying which console they would buy. It's hard for Nintendo to try to do anything when people already judge them based on random assumptions and speculation.
We should all just have open minds.
please don't get me wrong. i am keeping an open mind. i'm sure many are. but like a lot of us we are basing things on current trends and history. We almost for certain know what to expect from Nintendo and Sony in the next generation just based on their handheld and console launches in the past. Microsoft is kinda the odd one out for the typical 'hardcore' gamer given Microsoft's big focus in the last 2 years.I don't understand this survey :/ We literally know NOTHING about the NextBox/PS4 and people are picking that over something we know about and have concrete info on. I know the odds of me getting a Wii U are low. That gimmicky controller turns me off bigtime.
KC_Hokie
Have fun with your gimmicky Kinect controller.
To be honset, I don't even know yet.
I know damn well for sure, I'll be playing my PS3 and 360 for quite awhile. :)

But if there's one thing we can't go on, it's history. Take a look at Sony: In terms of hardware, PS1 and PS2 were weak consoles. The PS3 is the anomaly. Nintendo? NES, SNES, N64, Gamecube were all powerful consoles. The Wii is the outlier. And as for Microsoft, as you mentioned, who knows what they will do. As evidenced by their CES show yesterday, Kinect seems to be a fairly big thing going into the future at Microsoft. Really, the only thing we can really say about any of the consoles is that there will be a heavy focus on media and non-gaming capabilites. That, and a few exclusives such as Mario, Zelda, Gran Turismo, and Halo will almost surely come out.
Everything else is your own perception of the company.

ah you brought up a very good point. whichever the weaker console or handheld is, is more likely to win in sales in the end. That is true. DS was weaker than the PSP. 3DS is weaker than the Vita. Wtih me at least as a gamer, For my preferred machines, which have been Sony's, I'm more concerned that it will continue to get support, not which one is 'winning'. When i was playing on PS2, i wasn't on the forums blasting Xbox and Gamecube fans. I was just happy playing the games available. This is stupid, we don't even know how Nextbox or PS4 will be.SaltyMeatballsYes just like 2012 holiday season will have next gen systems for sale proclaimations lol

It is indeed interesting technology. Creepy even.
Now tell me why I would want that. Why *ANYONE* would want that. Why would I want a webcam so advanced that it reads lips? LOL. Not even just gaming, I can't even think of a legitimate application I'd want to use that for in my house period. About the only thing I can think of using that for is in security operations or something along those lines. But for entertainment? In my living room? Hell no.
