With properly large maps and player count, some people prefer those types of games. I personally haven't played MAG (I don't own a PS3, thinking of buying one though), but BF2 was great with 64 players on a map like karkand or wake 07.
I haven't seen something like that executed well on consoles, so I'll be watching MAG.

No need to make others like myself feel bad about picking up a game at midnight I didn't don't assume, i just said "I" can wait, im not addicted to video games. Easy, MAG. Beta was tons of fun. Didn't give ME a try yet and should've gotten the first one during the Steam Holiday sale, but the game just seemed...meh. Too Sci-fi for my tastes I guess. WTB DA:O expansion though
If you go tohttp://www.gamestop.com/you'll notice that Mass Effect 2 is number one whereas MAG is third. I suppose that means more people are interested in Mass Effect 2 which is to be expected.
Neither of those games are midnight launch material to me. Lol, the last midnight launch I did was the World of Warcraft Lich king expansion. Boy, did I get my money's worth out of that one. Had to retire due to the fact that I am completely incapable of playing a MMoRPG in moderation.
Good luck, I saved the pain by just pre-ordering it instead. I get Mass Effect 2 Collector's edition and I can just casually stroll instead of camping out for 4 hours straight.

I've got some serious doubts about MAG. I've even seen some diehard Sony fanboys in here say that it was terrible. I have to admit though, I've only played the beta once, but there was really nothing that made me want to play it ever again. It wasn't terrible, just bland.

Of course you do. Except for the fact you have to replace "I've played the beta" with "I watched a few videos, then read some impressions and marked them as my own". You aren't fooling anyone buddy.

I have a PS3 and was in the beta. Get over yourself, I got better things to do than lie about getting into a public beta.:|
They don't release here until the 29th but Mass Effect 2 for me. I think MAG will turn out better than a lot of people expect but I'm getting Battlefield: BC this week and probably the sequel later to fulfill my online shootah needs.

The one thing I came away from MAG liking was the controls. I'm not a big fan of the DS3 but I found the shooting mechanics pretty solid. It's an interesting concept, I'll give them that much.
