Originally it looked like they were gonna be one of it's biggest supporters next to GS. It got nominated in what, two categories? FTW!

And IGN is giving ME2 top honors. No doubt about it...

Loving the fact that Alan Wake is getting some lovin' and ME2 is being praised. As for IGN, I think they are giving it to ME2 while GB also goes for ME2.

Gametrailer's 2007 graphics king was CoD4. Not Crysis, not Uncharted. Call of Duty 4. Yeah that's a load of BS and proves gametrailers stinks.

But ME2 was in fact the best game of 2010.

ME2 is winning everywhere, with the exception of Gamespot, the Game of the Year competition in 2010 really wasn't as stiff as people made it out to be.

I dont pay much attention to reviews these days but gametrailers I have foudn myself agreeing with the most out of the videogame websites.

ME2 is a great pick, for me I think its between ME2 and Starcraft2 personally, but hey RDR is an very good game to.

Honestly, I would have rather seen Black Ops win over ME2. ME2 is just lacking in the gameplay department.

i wouldn't go that far... Black op's is just mediocre trash... :)

I remember GT said that SMG2 has a good chance to win, but I think Gametrailers only did that to stop the complaining about BO from being nominated on the Spike VGa's and not SMG2.super600

Mass Effect 2 wasn't my Game of the Year but instead Red Dead Redemption. Mass Effect 2 was a close second to my pick RDR however!!:)

Ign and Giant Bomb will probably both pick Mass Effect...

That's so funny, I would just never think to award ME2 with a GOTY status. I loved the game, thought it was awesome. Still, the stiff animations, planet scanning and hacking mini games were just awful after awhile. Interestingly enough, I rarely found myself wrapped up in the story. Things got intense at the end, but it took that long for me to really get into the characters. NAPK1NS

While I agree that the planet scanning was overly tedious, I actually found the Hacking to be a fun component. It was an engaging & interactive puzzle element in how it demanded your observational skills & focus to get the sequence matches (same with the circuit bypassing). Plus the scrolling lines of computer code (albiet tiny but you can definitely get the sense of it) provided good visual representation of what it was supposed to be.
