If you're too lazy, 2007 got number one. But after seeing this, I wish I could have started gaming earlier, it seemed like 1997-99 was awesome.

Good to see that in bold though, there was quite a few AAA titles in '07, and too many AA titles to count.

I think 2008 > 2007, and 2007 was incredibly epic for a year in gaming.110million

Two brilliant years...

Great video. 2007 was such an amazing year and they didnt even mention half of the amazing games. Destroys 2008 easily. What i liked about it was how we continuosly had game throughout the year and not have everything crammed into the last 3 months.

Actually now that i think about it we still had alot of games crammed in the holidays, we just had a wealthy supply earlier on in the year.

Great vid. 1998 wins in my eyes tho with Fallout2 and Half-life, two of my favourite games, not to mention OOT, Thief, Starcraft etc. That year was just sick with epic awesomeness.

2007 was good too, but I found no uber-classics there and overall it was a bit too shooter oriented for my taste, or maybe I'm just jaded.

2007 won? That overrated year? Huh, OK then. Some of my favourites include- the late 90's (basically the entire PS1 era), 2001 and 2004. And 2008, which is by far the best year of this generation. But 2009 looks even better. Floppy_Jim

You missed a few games on the 2008 list. The reason I think 2007 is overrated is because Ass Creed was disappoinitng, Halo 3's SP was disappointing and I don't own a PC or Wii so I couldn't play Crysis or SMG.

And 2008 has been getting a fairly steady stream of greatness throughout the year- DMC 4, GTA 4, MGS 4, Ninja Gaiden 2, Lost Odyssey, Soul Calibur 4 all came in the first half of the year aloing with all the great downloadable games.

SMG , TF 2: Pretty good games

Crysis, Stalker, witcher, Cod 4, Bioshock : Nice games, but had a some big flaws.

Mass Effect,assasin's creed - had tomn's of flaws

other good games : NWN 2 : Motb, CoH : OF etc

Compare this to years I mentioned (missing few console games nd some pc games in this list)

1997 - Castlevania: Symphony of the Night , Star Fox 64 , Carmageddon , Total Annihilation ,Final Fantasy VII,GoldenEye 007 ,Diblo,MDK, myth 1,Age of Empires,dungeon keeper,Fallout ,Gran Turismo ,Quake II,The Curse of Monkey Island

1998 : BG, Fallout 2, HL, Stacraft , brood wars, Myth 2,rainbow Six,thief, unreal, MGS, OOT, tekken 3, grim fadango etc

1999 : Freespace 2, UT, CS, alpha Centuari, SS2, Planescape Torment, Everquest, Quake 3, Homeworld, HoMM3, jagged allaince 2 etc

2007 was a fun year but so overrated. COD4, Halo 3, Eternal Sonata, The Darkness, Bioshock, Mass Effect, The Orange Box, Rock band, and Guitar Hero 3 were all fun games but not anything that made me want so bad like this year.

This year there was Burnout Paradise, Lost Odyssey, Grand Theft Auto IV, Metal Gear Solid 4, Tales of Vesperia, Little Big Planet, Dead Space, Saints Row 2, Rock band 2, Infinite Undiscovery, and Fallout 3 so far. Fable II is overrated in my opinion so I won't bother listing it with the other games. And you still have Resistance 2, Gears of War 2, Mirror's Edge, The Last Remnant, Banjo: Nuts and Bolts, Prince of Persia, and Tomb Raider: Underworld.

08 beats 07 hands down and in my opinion beats every other gaming year ever.
