No one cares about your passion, no one cares about your feelings, no one cares about you.
If you need caring to enjoy a hobby I would suggest working a lot.

No, E3 is dying. E3 is just not what it used to be back in the early 2000s and late 90s. Chill out, you're just disappointed because you expected E3 to have a ton of announcements. There will be better announcements outside of the conferences.
By the way, I want credit for calling it; I predicted that E3 would suck this year. I didn't really care either way about E3 reveals this year because I have an extensive backlog of games the released just this year alone. After I finish them, I will play more Tekken 7 and Nioh, which will be good for a long time.
E3 isnt dying and neither is gaming. This thread reeks of contrarian hipsterism and self pity.
'I liked it when it was cool.'
Theres literally more games I want at this E3 than I've seen in YEARS. Just because something doesnt fit your tastes doesnt mean its dying. Maybe the problem is you?
Less QQ and moar pewpew.
That's about it. There's not a game released in 2017 (so far) that I'm interested in. But, it would be foolish for me to say gaming is dying. Next year looks great though.
@jun_aka_pekto: Well it should be dying in the long run if E3 is so bad. I cant remember a worse E3.
First Microsoft did disastrous now sony were even worse. I am contemplating quitting gaming I dont like its current state. Id rather play old games or do something else with my life. These people dont care about our passion so why shoudl we care about what they have to offer?
Are you high or are you just doing the regular trolling?
MS and Sony had excellent content and from an older gamer who is a bit to old for Nintendo kid friendly games, Sony made my day with all the exclusive titles that makes me enough more happy i have a ps4.
MS was also good and i'm glad i have both.
People say that E3's "dying" without realizing that back in the 90's and early 00's E3 was just a bunch of suits talking about sales and the future of the company. There were hardly any game announcements, no trailers, no gameplay demos... It was only crappy tech demos that usually overstated the capabilities of the system.
And gaming is not dying, not now when there's the most variety of games that it has ever been. That you people only focus on AAA crap is your own fault. AAA will always feel stale since they are costly games to make, so devs have to follow trends, proven formulas and surprise the casual audience with spectacle.

Blame the FPS military crowd. The genre is SO STALE. E3 needs to be every other year or just can it. The Big 3 all have their own keynote events now. Your post is why Coolyfett is never a first adapter. Rather a console have tons of games before bringing it into our household.
I'm losing interest in most Western games. I love Rockstar, Naughty Dog and a few other devs but the Western side of gaming is mostly shit this gen. Japanese devs are what's really keeping me interesting in gaming right now. They've released a lot of good stuff this year.
We're complete opposites :P

Honestly, if I couldn't find anything I liked this year I'd be questioning if gaming was something for me. What is it you're looking forward to in 2018?

The usual bro games. ;)
The Crew 2 for its air and boat racing. Metro: Exodus, Far Cry 5, other sports games, flight sims.
I'm sure if you asked certain groups how 2017 was, they'd say it has been outstanding so far..... Zelda: BOTW, Horizon: Zero Dawn, Persona 5, Nioh, etc. I'm sure they're all outstanding. But, they're just not the types I feel like playing. Maybe someday, I might get the urge to play them. Not right now though.
It's nothing new to me. I've had similar lapses before. A number of years ago, I had no desire to play the Bethesda Fallout games. Within the preceding 12 months, I got the urge back. The last two games I finished were FO4 and FO3.
It is the budgets that will kill gaming. Star Citizen at $160 million and is 12% complete. This is going to leave a bad taste in peoples mouth when the pre alpha fails and they close their doors and have to tell people, "Sorry but we are closed, Thanks for ordering your $300 limited edition ship though!"
Call of Duties, Assassins Creeds all overblown budgets that continue to grow. It will pop sooner or later. We can see it now that it is pushing indie studios to create better games and come up with new ideas.
Exclusivity is dying...not gaming. Pretty soon Sony games will also feature on PC as it makes no financial sense to keep their games on one platform.
@jun_aka_pekto: Well it should be dying in the long run if E3 is so bad. I cant remember a worse E3.
I'd look for a trend that continues uninterrupted for a number of years before I conclude gaming is dying. Developers can't always be bothered to show their wares on E3, especially if they're one of the smaller ones or the games are not in a developed enough state to show around.
No one cares about your passion, no one cares about your feelings, no one cares about you.
Is that you dad?
Get a PC. Sony and Nintendo both showed some promising games but get a PC. Built one recently and never looked back
E3 is dying... big publishers are stagnating.
can't you look outside that pathetic bubble?
Gamescon has been better than E3 for years.
you're basing this on e3 press events? gtfoh xD sony seems to have conditioned many people into thinking that hype is synonymous with gaming.
nah, man. gaming is better than it's ever been and you're absurdly high expectations for e3 haven't damaged it one iota.

I have had fun with both but I make no secret that I don't play crap like Danganronpa, Disgaya, Persona, Tales of Ballbagia

ok, just trolling then
Or perhaps it´s just your interest for gaming that is dying and not gaming in general, we all grow and have new interest through life, so maybe you are at that stage where gaming is just not that important.
Yeah, I've been wanting the gaming industry to tank for a long time. Just explode in a spectacular manner; fanboys committing seppuku, the big AAA industry imploding, online services tanking... all of it. Like a comet just smashed into the business. We'd still have small developers to make games, so we'd be fine. It would all come back eventually, when the holodeck gets invented, but we'll have a few decades of rest before that invention ruins the human species.
The pretenders might be weeded out. But, gaming is dying? I think not.
if you wish to quit gaming, be my guest. All of us have taken long breaks from gaming every now and then.
Ooops. Necro.
I think someone needs to play Ni-Oh, New Collossus, Breath of the Wild, Cuphead, Yakuza 0, and Mario Odyssey.
Gaming is alive and well. So many astoundingly good games to enjoy this year. I want to raise a beer with people who are down about this. Real talk.
