GDC is not where the Big 3 show their games, its just Games Developer Conference

GDC isn't suppose to be that big, some games get announced but not many, E3 is all about numerous announcements of games though.

(Always wanted to do that since joining Gamespot.) But I don't think it was all a Bust Iwata's Speech was great IMO. He gave away free games to everybody in the Crowd. He also Announced alot of cool things. And fixed many fans complaints and he said that fix was available at that exact time.

All these game shows suck and it has been that way for the last 3 years. I used to be E3 was THE place to announce the gaming agenda for the year. Now, we're all lining up at drooling over one big announcement (if we even get that) and most of the time we're told about the announcement in advance of the show anyway so its not a surprise unless they show gameplay...which they often don't.

I think this is a problem caused by having way too many gaming expos spread through the year. Companies try to ration their news so they have a little something for each show. It only waters down the shows and makes them ALL less interesting.

Its GDC not E3. UGH when will people learn.

It was a flop, at least Gears 2 and LBP were announced at previous GDC's. Even a dead, blind, disabled chimp would know another COD would be releasing this year.Floppy_Jim

Last year we had a lot more information, this GDC is lame. I remember having all the discussions last year about RPGs, Unreal Engine 3.5, future of story tellings in games, new Havok tools, and future of MMOs and what to expect from them. This year we didn't really get any interesting panels or demonstrations.

I liked reading the Iwata/Miyamoto keynotes. They were pretty good.

Its called GAME DEVELOPERS conference for a reason. Its a tradeshow for....tuh duh, game developers!!! What do you expect, a new grand theft auto to be playable?

I wasn't expected announcements about games myself, I just wanted some news on the industry itself like we got last year. This year nothing has really happened at GDC to note beside the fail device of onLive

I didn't have any big expectations. I thought Insomniac would reveal their Ratchet game and let us know if it was a downloadable or full game release , and they delivered on that.

Nintendo announced a Zelda game , and I saw some GoW III footage ....... so all in all , it wasn't bad so far.

What the hell happened to the Sony or Microsoft conferences? Did they just not attend.

Isnt there still tomorrow to go?
